Thanks, Jason. The Fendrihan branded soaps are quite good, at least based on the one sample I've tried. They seem to be a reasonable price and the ingredient quality is decent. The scent is pleasant but fairly light. It lathers easily and the shave performance is decent. I find I prefer tallow soaps or at least ones with lanolin in them, and the Fendrihan ones are vegan, but while I wouldn't put them in my top rank of soaps they're solidly in the middle somewhere. I noticed the new line of Fendrihan creams and am definitely curious about them. Haven't had a chance to try them yet -- NB'18 and all that you know ...
Saturday Shave and off focus I decided I want to go for it today, well I will admit I almost always chase the baby. Took out the absurdly huge and luxurious Kent BK12 and went with some CF since I knew I need a lot of lather. These days my favorite blade is this M. Martinez huge 8+/8 smiling near wedge. It is a huge heavy razor but I finding it easy to control and make precision adjustments. All the stars aligned and I had an epic shave to kick off the weekend. That takes a load off my mind. I was wondering what I was going to do for soap after my projected end of supply in 2068.
I watched an much older Larry being interviewed on a 3-Stooges site on line. A very down-to-earth gentlemam in his post-Stooge years.
I shave with both hands regardless of razor type, more so with straights than DE’s simply because I need the positioning more with straights. I think the most important thing is that you basically do what is the most comfortable, while you slowly push your boundaries. Play around with your off hand. But if it really sucks, quit doing it, and nobody’s will ever know or care.
I go through phases where I dream about work so much that it is both exhausting and stressful. It usually only happens at the busiest times, but I will (seriously) vividly dream that I performed a task, and wake up having deleted it from my mental to do list. This has, on a couple of occasions, caused me some big problems when I completely missed a meeting or didn’t dispatch someone because I thought it was done. From a dream. It sucks. I honestly can’t wait for when I hang it up, dream about work, and wake up in a flop sweat. Then I am going to pull a fantastic hit out of a four foot bong, hysterically laugh my butt off and go back to sleep until it’s time to go fishing.
July 2018 July 6 Razor - Fatip Piccolo Blade - (3) Soap - Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic Post - Alum Well, I am definitely back in a clearance store at work. I haven't moved as many mattresses in a day as I did today in over 6 months. And all just to try and put it back in somewhat good order. More to do but it's a start. One thing about it, it's exercise and that should make my doctor happy. I was happy to get home to another shave with the Fatip/Kai combo and allowed the fine scent and lather of Jeeves Bay Rum to carry me away. I did three full passes just to enjoy it more and ended up with a baby on my hands. Ahhhhh, the good life. Now, time to flip on the apps and go haul some drunks around when they're ready. At least I don't have to lift them like a mattress. Have a great Saturday tomorrow everyone!
A healthy dose of Gentleman is amongst my favourites as well, Bruce. Awesome! Fantastic pic, and congrats to your wife, Andrew! FWIW, I also found vintage carbon Injector blades super tuggy. Great info, John. I wonder who makes them. The soaps are made in Germany, I believe. Fantastic set up, Keith. Love the look of those big Kents!

Twenty shaves on the Brit Wilky. Yesterday's shave (#19) was very poor quality with stubble remaining after three passes. My first thought was that the blade had reached the end of it's usefulness but I had shaved before showering and had not done as thorough a prep as I usually do. Today I returned to my standard regimen of shower, then shave and had much better results. So I'd say a good prep is especially important when using a higher mileage blade. It certainly does not feel like a new blade anymore but remains serviceable and is not yet overly uncomfortable to use. We'll see if I can make it to the end of the month with this bad boy. Last month was the '56 Flare tip and this month is the Zamac Tech. I'm already longing for a return to my beloved open combs (Old Types and NEW Long Combs).
