Thank you Jim (?) @jluc! I like that near invisible snakeskin black, and a little Snapseed App cleanup helps the Android phone snaps look better. Thank you Clint @clint64. Daily life has gotten filled with more domestic interaction lately leaving for less online time. I'm still around reading post but find myself becoming... what do you call a slightly visible shave ninja in training? And yes, I enjoy the Big P product line. Many times I've dropped the missing Red & White players in my basket but haven't followed through. I'm not much of a sports & adult beverage guy. Thank you X2 Bruce @FaceScraper This FB is my desert island, zombie bug-out bag, if I could only have one razor. But I'm eyes open watching for another. I'm a user more than collector so a backup is on my want to get/trade goods list. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
Straight Razor Newbie It has been a week. Have been continuing my learning process with one pass, then finish with other tools. Stropping is still awkward. Feeling more comfortable with the razor in my hand. I'm able to get closer on the basic simple strokes. Working to find the optimum grip/hand/stretching positions needed. The blade feels more comfortable as I go along. I like this enough to continue further. Purchased a second razor from a reliable source to make sure of my edges. I figured though this part of the learning curve I want to have some ability to confirm a poor result is not equipment related. Glad I decided to try this.
Saturday July 7 [non-existent photo ] Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Nacet (3) Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample Jeeves Bay Rum splash I actually hauled my PlayBook into the bathroom today and photographed my shave. Naturally, after all that the wretched machine won't upload the photo from my photo album to the thread now, so no pic. Of course, the photo wasn't accurate anyway, because I changed my mind about my shave after taking it... I enjoyed the shave today. The brush whipped up a great lather for face lathering. The razor then felt so smooth I checked to make sure it had a blade in it. I only did one pass for a personally comfortable shave since I am not going out where anyone can see me anyway. However even one pass got me from a couple days' stubble to cleanshaven with a few patches of mild roughness. I expect my standard relather and full second pass XTG would have taken it down to DFS if I had wanted to. The Jeeves splashes are always an excellent finish.
Wonderful shave report. The Soap Destroyer should be eating through the soap sample. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I finally started unpacking the rest of my straights. It was like Christmas I honed a few up and had a nice afternoon shave. SOTD Proraso Red Soap B-400 Brush by Tom Craftsman Razor Fine Santal Absolut After Shave Have a great day!
I have a set of Craftsman screwdrivers. Wanna trade? Seems like a fair deal to me. Just a beautiful razor you have there, Brian!
I have a couple of automatic Seiko including one of their divers, I agree they are great values. I also have a Apple watch that I purchased for the gym, it is near worthless, the heart rate monitor is not even close to being accurate, the music is low quality and works poorly, other than that... well I can't think of anything positive to say about it. You progress will go slow then that a big jump, just keep working on it. You are making good progress.
Sunday Shave On the weekend I like the big blades so today is was 3/4 grind Hart Steel measuring in at 7/8. Wonderful shave but a tickle from the alum left me just short of epic.
