The Rocnel, Delta Echo New SC, and the Option Five for the razors. At least to start. I need to decide. On the brushes, I really need to thin the heard. Off the top of my head the BSB with 2 band Vie Long Fan is a likely candidate along with the Shavemac D01 3 band. I need to evaluate some others as well. I hear you on the hobbies. So we will keep that quiet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No luck yesterday. We often fish where this one creek comes into the lake, with good success. Too wet lately, so the creek is higher than usual, which doesn’t help. We need to get the wife’s family boat out if we want to troll the deep water for big Gerrards. Kootenay Lake is quite a large lake (about 60 miles long) but is quite narrow across, between mountain ranges. The pics I show are from the bay where we lease a spot yearly. Houses and resorts are on the sheltered bays or inlets as the main shore is very open and rocky.
It certainly is beautiful. I didn’t know what a Gerrard was, so I looked it up. Certainly a pretty trout. Question: When they are that big, do you treat them like salmon? Is it similar meat?
To me, the Ranger Tech has the most blade feel, but it isn't much more. I would have to get out my FB to see how it really compares.
Straight Razor Newbie. Today I had plenty of time. Good first pass, but I was still finding a couple of places feeling a little tuggy. Figured it was my angle or where the growth direction is a little different. Decided to do a second pass. Did some changes, but was not ready to do too much new on pass direction yet. I was very surprised that the second pass was smoother than the first. I've noticed this a little with other razors, but did not expect it here. See how it progresses. Finished up with other stuff. Nice shave. For the duration of my dark side apprenticship, I'll probably make my post shave routine - cold rinse, alum, rinse, small amount of Proraso AS Balm, air dry, then splash on the stank of the day. Seems better for now.
Back to work shave So far all my Jwest razors have been winners and this Suzuiki Niles is no exception. Fresh off a refresh the edge was sharp and smooth.
