I hope you enjoy it here. I started my "traditional" shaving journey in my 50's also. I'm in my 60's now, still getting stellar shaves and still loving it!!:happy088: That "Fatboy" is one really nice razor.

    Fine busines.
I too didn't start DE shaving until my 50's.
Looking to get a fatboy to add to my gear.
The more I hear about them, the more I am wanting one.
    Thanks

Thanks. You won't go far wrong, mine was refurbished and I love it,not cheap but I suppose it's a case of quality not quantity.
I now have 5 quality Razors which I think will do me now,I ordered mine while in the States, they are a like dearer in the uk. Hope you find one to your liking.
Next item I would like is a quality shaving brush.
    Regards Kevan

:signs046: @Norvell06 from western NY, glad you decided to join us at TSD. I enjoy my Fat Boys as well; so much that I gave both my boys one as well. That said the Pre war Techs get most of my attention.

Thanks, love my Gillette fat boy,a bit more expensive here in the uk,100 x better than the merkur futur I bought, which I ended up selling, the one I purchased restored is like new and a fine piece of shaving engineering. Could they not remake them?

There are a few trying, but the one I think the one that is the best engineered is this one from Razor Emporium.

Maybe someday my family will buy it for me .....

What? ......... I guy can hope.

Welcome Kevan @Norvell06 to TSD! Sounds like you've found your razor of choice. I'm a fan of the Fat Boys, too. Living on the U.S. South coast in a small metro area I've cleared out every thrift and antique store of any available Gillette Adjustable that was offered at a decent price. Only kept one for myself - an E4. Best $5 (£3.83) I've spent!

Wow thats good, paid a little more for my 1960 refurbished fatboy which I bought in the States but really glad I purchased it. Been thinking of checking out the second hand markets here in the uk,but they are difficult to find here as they are collecters razors and can sell for silly money. Next time I'm on vacation in the States ill give the thrift and antiques shops a look over.
    Regards Kevan
