I suppose that's true, but I liked my 66 soap a lot(Cavendish). Had thoughts about getting another, but then I get bombarded with more companies to try. But that happens to us all in here, doesn't it?
Last shave at home for ten days, so I decided to pull out the big gun. Mickey Lee Soapworks The Drunken Goat Elk Antler Brush Koraat Razor Lucky Tiger Pitrulon Classic After Shave Have a great week!
July 9th Schick E3 w Personna (3) Palmolive Menthol SC TGN Finest/ Maple Thayers TFS Mastro Miche AS Day 4 with the E3 after a weekend away. I think I'll use it all week. I travel for coaching next weekend and think I'll take a 40s Superspeed, inspired by Jim. A nice shave for 'Menthol Monday' this morning. I really like this cream, and haven't gone wrong using either Palmolive product in the den- this cream or the regular soap stick. Good stuff. 2+ passes and I am smooth heading off to work. Finished with the Mastro Miche, and @Linuxguile, I didn't even block out the logo... Have a great day all!
Thank you, Bruce! Awesome razor, Brian! The Drunken Goat is on my list to try. Love the shape of that brush, Jason! And I guess if Doc Brown were to make a soap and AS it surely would be good!
Thank you Andrew. The Drunken Goat is one of my favorites that will always have a place in my Den. Go for it
Great pic, Jim. The Barbon doesn't seem to show up a lot on here. Pity about the broken cap. You could always just put the tube in a Ziploc if you don't want to use it all up right away. Or perhaps a top from a tube with a similar thread pattern. Love the art deco styling on that B1, Perry! I find it interesting how different the 'summer' vacations are between you in Alabama and us here. My wife's last day was the last day in June and she sees kids again right around Labour Day weekend. Same amount of time off for kids, but only a month's overlap between the two systems. Nice combo, Andrew. You are right about soaps and new products. I've come full circle on that a bit and instead want to try some different products from my favourites. I think I've been fairly resistant to the 'next best thing' and not just because of the NB. I have a number of brands that work very well for me, and am mostly just wanting to try a few more different scents within that group of artisans. I say mostly, as I've loved the scent of SV Felce Aromatica since having a shower bar of it and have had DR Harris Arlington in the cart once or twice... Super pic and write up, Joseph. You are right, there is sometimes a different feeling after knocking down two days growth. Interesting that the razor produces such different results.
Thank you, Gentlemen. I believe it was the 2nd brush I made when I started playing around with making a few.
Great photo Jim. I think having too many razors is a common problem around here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Jason! I really really really need to have a few years of no buying, but I have such a hard time passing up a good deal or good value. Stirling Soaps price and performance really knock it out of the park for me. And when Italian Barber puts soap on sale for $1 an ounce reels me in too. And seeing a premium soap and as on a BST for half price.... I will still have these soap hanging around when Logan starts shaving .
Yup, I hear you Andrew. I guess that is what I mean with a brand like Stirling- I know I love it, so I'd probably try a few new scents from them rather than try a new artisan. Those Italian Barber sales have included some top notch products, too. I think I paid 7 bucks or so for my puck of Fine L'Orange Noir. Paying a few bucks for TFS Farinik also made me not think twice about binning it. They are also the reason why I have about 400 Nacets and Astra SPs kicking around...
PS- Is now a good time to mention that some Fine soaps are $8.50 right now at IB? They also have Tabac pucks on sale for $10. Some What the Puck tubs on for $3 as well. Just in case you were curious...
