Any chance you're joining us for Cinco de Julio?

  1. Of course. In fact, I save my popsicle sticks for just this occasion!

I already have a never ending puck of Tabac and the trio of What the Puck soaps. If I could nab one of the new handles solo I would probably already have a box inbound.

Thank you, Jason! It's certainly odd how school systems work around the country and elsewhere. Our last day was the Friday before Memorial Day (May 24 maybe?) and then teachers return August 1 for some workdays. I think the students return full time on August 7. It's certainly early, but that's standard for all the systems in our state. We're legislated to start around that time and end the week before Memorial Day. Have to fit 180 instructional days in those months.

    Thank you, Clint!

Hmmm.....I've been wanting to try the Blue Barbershop soap because I like the aftershave pretty well. It's one of the What the Puck scents. May have to consider a purchase.

That might be a good second WTP purchase for me.(the soap).. two shaves in with the Lime Burst, and I believe this could be a favorite soon.

I take that back-would be the FIRST....the Lime Burst came as part of a PIF package.

Well, the Lime Burst is just $2.88 right now on Italian Barber. The orange soap is the same price, but the Blue Barbershop is a whopping $5.99. Or you can buy a set of all three soaps for $8.99 or something crazy cheap like that.

Gillette English Aristocrat oJr / Gillette 7 O'clock Super (?)
    Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
    Lucky Tiger balm

I was going to switch the Nacet blade I am running right now from my Rockwell 6s to one of my Delta Echo refurbished Gillette adjustables. However I noticed the Aristocrat Jr was already loaded with a blade I had forgotten about. I think the Gillette 7 O'clock Super has between 3 and 5 shaves on it but I am not actually sure of the number. In any event, it still seemed decently sharp and smooth today, giving me something between a CCS and DFS with one pleasant pass.

The Fendrihan soap has a pleasant but light scent. According to the Fendrihan site, that's a deliberate feature not a bug -- it's intended to be a pleasant soap that will not interfere with any postshave scent the user prefers. In fact, I have noticed I can use any splash I want without worrying about a clash.

First shave since Friday morning; that was a forgettable one with the Fatboy and a Gillette Platinum Plus that had gone around the block once too often.

Today's shave, despite three days of growth, was smooth and issue free.

Same amount of soap to my knowledge for all three of those scents.

I left the house very early this morning without taking the time to post. Days like today it helps to have a setup that I can use just blind tired and sleepy. This is just such a lineup. The soap seemed to lather itself helping matters along. Two passes, ATG followed by XTG with touch ups along my jawline and lower right neck ended just missing the baby. More than good enough for a early morning commute. I think the rest of the week is going to be very similar. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
