Thanks! We've been looking off and on for a couple of years. Haven't seen any lately, but we look online every day and know what's currently available. We'll go look at some later this week.
July Focus Day 10 with the Williams and the R41 (2011) With my reputation as verbose fully intact, I will recount today's shave. Tha real fact is, I could summarize in two simple words: "No issues" But that would be boring, so allow me to add a few more to the word count. Disclaimer: I have been asked by the women in my life (wife, daughter) to grow back the Van Dyke, so I am not running a blade across my lips or chin. The Williams is in a state now, where I could absolutely forgo the blooming process, but what fun would that be, right Fuzzy? So, bloomed it was. Stunning amounts of mentholated, creamy, delectable lather. The Simpson is a lather hog and has a terrific face-feel. The R41 still has the same Personna 74 and is showing zero signs of giving up the ghost, so I will continue with it until it does. Light touch, WTG short, semi-buffing strokes; no skin stretching per se, just the correctly held angle performed without incident. Rinse, repeat XTG. (Usually I combine some ATG in this pass, mostly on my jaw line, which grows towards my ears) What's going on here No weepers, no nicks. Weird... Rinse, ATG up against the edges of the goatee and sideburns. A bit of buffing touch up on my neck. (yes, buffing with a 2011 R41) Done. Decide to eschew the alum block. You just know when it's not necessary and today...not necessary. Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel. Clean my razor/brush/sink. Finish with a healthy splash of Proraso. "No issues"
Thanks Andrew. Great shave today. The CH2 is a favorite of mine. I had a 2012 and stupidly sold it. The butterscotch from Simpson is not my favorite, but you are correct, the knot is very nice.
July 10 SOTD: Razor: Gillette Blue Tip Blade: Polsilver Brush: PAA The Green Ray Lather: Stirling For Him Aftershave: Stirling For Him Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB Another nice shave with blue tip this morning. I had a bit extra time, as I am off to Houston for a meeting today, so I took it to build a great lather with this soap. Definitely a light scent on the soap, but still pleasant. I hope everyone has a great day!
I have about 10 pages and 2 shaves to catch up on, but I wanted to share this. It’s live on his website for those not going. More details in the discussion thread.
