Atomic Bay Rum is a amazing and 'every' shaving enthusiast should own it, or at least try it. I don't mess around when it comes to fragrance. It's worth owning.

I can't do a greasy balm. It has to dry to a normal skin moisture content early-on or it's a no-go. I ultimately prefer alcohol-based splashes with well formulated glycerine, alum, ultra-light moisturizers, and menthol. Kevin of Country Club for Men is my favorite. IMO, no independent artisan makes a better splash than his and his splash formula even beats larger artisan brands, or at least 'matches' them. I get just the right amount of sting, just the right amount of light cooling and then a solid post-shave moisturizing effect that is a tad dry, but induces the skin to produce a nice moisture content within an hour or two because of its ingredients. Right now there is no one else I will go to to get my custom splashes made. Worth every penny I ever paid him. PAA makes a very similar splash IMO. Both are excellent.

Ahh. See, I tend to prefer a warm shave for the cutting/shaving process, then a stinging-cool 'finish' to the shave. Yeah, that's an old-school principle, but it works for me. I 'rarely' do a 'cold shave' or a 'menthol lather' shave. 'Maybe' in the summer time if it's uncomfortably hot I'll pull out PAA's Cold Spices that is juuust the right 'touch' of cool.

The knight is again coming out on Saturday when I have my Tommy Hilfiger set with the ABC razor, silver rose shave brush and butterfly brush stand pre-planned. I actually stole the idea for the knight from a picture I saw online 'somewhere' in google images when piecing together my set. 'Someone out there' thought of this first. I don't know who, but it wasn't an original idea. The butterfly pen holder for the antique brush is 'my' idea though.

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- RazoRock Plissoft Synth. 24/57mm knot
    Soap/Cream:- Ariana & Evans ~ Asian Plum
    Razor/Blade:- Merkur 38C / Rapira Super Stainless #4
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic / Lucky Tiger Face Moisturizer

WOW, I love the smell of Ariana & Evans Asian Plum is not very strong or overpowering scent and it smells very relaxing kinda like a Chocolate Spice Plum pudding to my nose, I didn't know the soap has Goats Milk and the soap has given my face a wonderful soft smooth and excellent post shave feel.

    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    Ever-Ready 200T Boar
    GEM Contour
    GEM Blue STAR CS SE
    CWR
    Aqua Velva Musk

In keeping with the Keep It Simple Shave, my only prep is a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Ever-Ready 200T Boar brush. I did two passes with the GEM Contour Razor with a GEM Blue STAR CS SE blade blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

An Update, especially for those who "liked" my planned shave-the top on the Barbasol razor has to be slid off and then very carefully. I couldn't see what I was doing without my glasses, so I had to save my shave with an old Sensor Deuce. This "sliding" thing takes practice-for me it appears to slide off when it wants to, not when I work at it. Thus tomorrow will be the opening use of the Barbasol Twin-Blade. I slid it off a bit to help me slide it off altogether tomorrow. Yes, I know I cheated, but IT cheated on ME first. Nyahh Nyahh.

My first use of a Myrsol aftershave and I'm impressed, yet another very good Spanish product.
It leaves the skin feeling toned and has a nice touch of menthol.
I chose the soap as a show of empathy with the England fans awaiting kick-off.
    Happy Shaving one and all.
