The Khmer is more subtle in its flavor than Thai or Vietnamese and is indeed delicious.

Saturday we're doing a cruise to a restaurant on the Mekong for my favorite mango salad, another winner.

I ordered it on the Jeeves website. We’re about 45 min to the border here, John, and there is a shipping outlet 10 min past that in Montana. I use that address when things are US only. Not ideal for something that doesn’t cost much, but the AS wouldn’t have been allowed even if he did ship to Canada.

    July 12 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Blue Tip
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Barbon
    Aftershave: Barbon
    Additional Care:
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB

My wife hosts a Bible study for 3rd - 6th grade girls every other Wednesday night, so I took my son to a movie last night. We got home a little late, so I didn't get to pack up my bag properly, so this is yesterday's shave and pic repeated. Again, nice and smooth. I hope everyone has a great!

I am sure you had a great time with your son. Very good shave lineup to repeat.

    SOTD for July 12, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G5 injector
    Brush: Restored Surrey badger
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange aftershave

Wonderful shave with Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange. It came in yesterday and I put it to the task this morning. No disappointments. Slick, shiny, hydrated lather that is super cold. I enjoy the glacials and am happy to have this set in the arsenal.

The band leadership team of about 25 kids is coming in this morning. We're going to get organized for camp as well as do some leadership activities. Be a fairly busy day for me, but that's the norm I guess.

    Have a great day!

As the meetup approaches, I'm really bummed I won't be there. Having said that, I don't have the energy, and am trying to get well for an upcoming family wedding halfway across the country, so it is what it is. Just still wishing I could be there, guys.

Deeper rabbit hole and WAAAAY more expensive. All my RAD, SAD and BAD purchases combined don't come close to the cost of a good swiss automatic. If I got WAD (watches), I'd be in the poorhouse. I inherited my grandfather's Cartier, bought an Omega Seamaster, and Oris Skeleton, and a vintage Hublot when the business was doing well. Then I went on to GAD (guns), which was less expensive, then to shaving. My wife doesn't even blink when a new soap or razor shows up in the mail now because it's gotta be a lot less expensive then a watch or a gun ever was. Instead of "is that another soap?!" i get "that one smells nice!". Pretty sure she is encouraging me with this hobby because it's way better than the previous ones were.

I love the guilloche pattern on this one!

So you're saying that the popsicle sticks are responsible for overthrowing the cartel's imaginary cookie propaganda war in July. Hmmm. Anyone thinks this is just coincidental? By the way, I buy popsicle sticks by the truckload, so if anyone needs a deal on them, let me know. Let's just call it the cookie revolution's "community outreach program". Vive la revolucion!

Didn't post yesterday, but actually shaved around 5pm with the R41 and Williams.
So, we only have 16 hours between shaves, which would prove to be a test for the 30 day R41.

After last evening's shave (which, BTW, was quite nice), I tossed the Personna 74. It was a valiant and excellent blade right up to the end, but the level of tugging was too much to ignore, so buh-bye.
I peered into my large stash of blades, many of which happen to be somewhat vintage, and chose a Schick Krona.
With the blade loaded, I took my lovely M&F Blonde Badger (isn't she a beaut?)
and swirled it gently around the bloomed puck of tallow Williams.
I have been eschewing the Aesop bowl as of late and going right to the face, adding water as necessary.
The lather went on rather dry, so I continued to dip the brush into the water until the lather was nicely hydrated.
When the lather starts flying off of my face onto the mirror, walls and my chest,
it's usually a good indication that I have added enough water.
The R41 and I have become extremely close these past 12 days. I almost feel like this is the start of a beautiful friendship.
The Krona was a nice smooth operator and performed its duties WTG, XTG and ATG flawlessly.
I have solidified the necessary angle, allowing me to shave irritation-free.
The 30 day focus is a great learning tool for everyone, not just newbies, but all wet-shavers.
I have come to appreciate it greatly, especially this month. I honestly didn't think I would make it with the R41. I considered cheating last evening and using my Ranger Tech, which is eyeballing me jealously. However, I was true to the Mühle and to the thread.

Ah. My brother in BC does the same thing and I sometimes have used his US address and then had him reship to me in Canada. Not really worth it for a $40 item.

Fortunately, I read the scent profile on the Jeeves site and this one includes tobacco leaf, so I'm not too sorry about passing this one up. Despite the really cool name and label and the Crew connection.

At this moment, I have commenced the task of writing up an obituary for theBarbasol Twin-Blade DisposeABLE razor. I love Barbasol shave cream and other shave products, and would love to try the bodywash if I can find it somewhere locally, but as for this new razor-thing just didn't do the job. Makes me all the more glad I bought two bags of my regular disposeABLES yesterday at CVS(buy one bag, get second 1/2 off). Actually, why not make the obit simple?:

Thing just didn't do the job.
