Great report and photo, Joseph. And yes, that Blonde Badger really is a beaut. Either that or you carefully posed her to show her best side and hide the fangs...
As the StL MeetUp approaches, I just wanted to wish everyone attending safe travels and a fabulous and memorable weekend. Really sorry I couldn't attend this one but with the leg travel is out right now; maybe next year if we have one...
I think you gotta break out the pain stick! Georgeous razor, and an epic shave, Nice Keith! Yum! Sounds like a great evening with your son, Jim! And a nice and smooth repeat is nothing to scoff at! Back to the grind already ? Great shave! GLO may become my favorite citrus soap, but I don't think it will unseat Iced Pineapple as my #1. Excellent shot Joseph, Your M&F is a beauty for sure!
Thank you, Clint. We had a great time, but it was a bit if late night last night. The alarm seemed to go off very early this morning.
July 12th Schick E3 w Personna (6) Stirling Bay Rum Omega '49 / Walnut & Brass Thayers Jeeves OHS Tobacco Bay Leaf AS Last day for the E3 focus. A pleasant shave with the Schick as I did another traditional 3 pass'er. I can feel a little on my lower neck, so not my best work, but still sufficient for a short day at work. I'll be travelling south of the 49th this evening on a Charter bus with a few other coaches and 30 or so lacrosse players. Going part way tonight and then onto western Washington tomorrow morning and we'll be gone until the wee hours on Monday. We'll be staying in a University dorm, so we'll see how that goes. Jim @Norcalnewb has inspired me to pack my 40s Superspeed as a travel razor for the trip. I don't think I'll be posting very much over the next few days (or at all if there isn't wifi in the residence), so I'll take the opportunity now to wish everyone going to the St. Louis meet up safe travels and hope you all have a great time. I'm excited for this trip, but I wish I could have met up with those going as well. Have a great day all!
So much love for the Lemony Orange going on in this thread! It's getting kinda tough to resist.... Great photo and gear selection! The G5 looks great with its blue handle. Good luck with the kids today, Perry!
Hope it slows down for you a bit at work, Clint. The BSB again? reconsidering? I've come to the realization that I much prefer longer handles on brushes, but that little metal handle is a beaut. Beautiful razor and set up, Keith. Love the simple grain on the scales, and it matches the brush handle very well. I hope the day with the kids goes well, Perry. You must have a very dedicated group for 25 of them to come in on July 12! Another awesome pic and write up, Joseph. My mom has a glass Pinaud bottle quite similar to your Veg bottle. Maybe a little older- it has no label, the glass is a little cruder and it has a glass stopper. I'd guess 30s or so. I've asked her to not do anything with it besides pass it on to me!
Rockwell 6S (Plate 5) Voskhod (4) Simpson Commodore X3 “Ol’ Shedder” VDH soap Stirling Orange Chill Witch Hazel Stirling Electric Sheep Glacial “Ol’ Shedder” may have come through today. There were a few small hairs in the soap, but they quite possibly were trapped from previous uses. I didn’t see any signs of any longer hairs today, either in the soap, or on my face. Gonna count today as a win for the brush. Continuing on with the Rockwell and the VDH soap. Bumped up to plate #5 and tossed the Voskhod back in. Fantastic 3-passer, with a little touch up…piece of cake. Splash of cool, topped with a splash of cold - it’s a wrap. My job is done, and smoothness arrived. Have a great Thursday, gents! Hope you have a great trip, Jason, and that you stay safe as you travel as a lacrosse missionary among the savage and strange barbarians south of the Border. Great photo today. The lighting really makes the grain on your shaving soap bowl glow with depth and fire. Just beautiful.
Yup, I have no idea what the scent will be like as I don't even know what a couple of the things on the scent profile are or smell like. I'm getting it because it actually says 30 Day Crew on it (!), because it is made by an artisan that I've enjoyed his other products, and because enough people have said it won't kill the NB... That being said, I also had ordered a few other things (not shave related) to the shipping outlet last week, so I won't be going down just for the soap and splash.
Thanks, John. I think it is in my best interest to not quote this line to the border guard when he asks us what we are doing in the USA... On Sunday, Canada and the USA play each other at the Field Lacrosse World Championships. Canada is the defending world champion, but the USA is the usual winner. Last year was an exception. We're planning on watching it as a group (it is live on ESPN2) and depending on the result, then we'll see whether I use your line or not...
Catch up post for me. Who knew going from bachelor to folks sharing your space would fill so many hours of the day. Previous shave was a menthol Monday, using same hardware as today. Cremo Cooling & Osage Rub vs. Tabac & Clubman. I did swap out the earlier Tuxedo fitted ferrule for an Omega 98 boar today. Same Futur clone on 4-1/2 and Personna Lab Blue blade. DFS both times, no errors. Now back to mopping up spilt kool-aid! Good Shaves Y'all! Tapatalk Via Kyocera
Congrats on the brush! Cool picture! I like the way you laid your gear out. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
