This must be getting pretty boring for you all, I know it is to me. Sorry fellow focusers, but I am being honest.
But I committed (probably should be committed) and I will stick with it. Ugh.

The Vie-Long is a pretty floppy silvertip brush. The former user, a gent for whom I have great admiration, worked it pretty hard.
The knot no longer blooms evenly, and while that doesn't alter its lathering ability, aesthetically, it's not my most beautiful brush.
The Beehive handle, however, is one of my favorites and I might have it re-knotted in the future.
Normally it doesn't shed either, but today it gave up one hair. :angry019:

Everyone here knows how I feel about shedding brushes.
The ring of impending demise in the tub of Williams is growing ever larger. Still a lot of shaves remaining.
The Schick Krona blade made its last appearance today. While it sliced fairly smoothly, I sensed the beginnings of some tugging.
Since I have quiet a few blades, I decided to make this the last shave.
I am debating using my last Wilkinson Sword Chromium (Light Brigade) tomorrow after drooling over all of the St. Louis member stashes.

Lucky fellows, that blade is mos def #1 of all the vintage blades. I can---and have gotten 30 shaves from one.
    We'll see. :eatdrink013:
Drew a little blood at the goatee line, and can only chalk it up to user error with the R41.
Indeed, I will NEVER again blame any piece of shaving gear for what is almost ALWAYS user error.
The newbs that blame a bad blade, or whatever, simply don't yet get it. They will.
The menthol in my Williams and Floïd qualify this shave as a nice "Menthol Monday" post,
however, here is where it's posted.

You could do a whole lot worse than Jeeves Black Tea. I'm using it today, as a matter of fact act.

Thank you. It is just my black computer desk in natural light. I turn the DSLR to portrait with flash and it makes the desk look a uniform deep black.

Great post and photo Primo. The handle certainly is worth the effort of replacing the knot.

    Razor: Valet AutoStrop VC4
    Blade: Feather (CS?) (1)
    Brush: Semogue 620
    Soap: Der Vergulde Hand
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I'm sure I've said before that I'm much more of a DE and Injector guy than a traditional SE one. Sometimes, however, the RAD takes control and you buy a razor that you wouldn't normally think about; this was one of those times. Recently, I bought an AutoStrop VC4, which arrived last week, and ordered some Feather blades from TryABlade, which arrived on Saturday. Today was my first shave with the VC4. For the blade, I picked the Feather in the blue wrapper which (I think) is the CS one.

I have to admit that it was a pleasant experience which I enjoyed better than many of my shaves with a Gem. Two days of growth was removed easily with no issues for a satisfying DFS. No noise from the Alum.

A couple of questions for the experts:
    1) Am I correct that the Feather blades in the blue wrapper are CS and the black ones are Stainless? Or do I have it backwards?
    2) I've seen posts where people have used a Feather SE in a Gem by adding the spine from a used blade. If I have a gem with the standoffs for the Singledge blade, can I use the Feather blade as is?

Final thoughts- I have to admit that there is something to the Steampunk look of an AS with its exposed gears. I feel a bit like I need to put on some goggles and fire up the dirigible.

John, I have a lot of the Feather FHS SS blades so I will check the color of the wrapper this evening.

Thank you. Mrs. 76 enjoyed the scent of both Jeeves soaps, she did not really like the rock rose cedar though, so apparently that is her soap of choice for me only when I’m traveling for work.she says it has tones of woman repellent :happy102:. I enjoyed the scent.

    RazoRock Wunderbar
    Gillette Platinum Plus (4)
Simpson CH2 Synthetic "The Soap Destroyer" (27mm, Destroyer Class)
Jeeves Of Hudson Street "Bay Rum"
    Myrsol Agua De Limon AS

My shave this morning featured the RazoRock Wunderbar slant (for which I blatantly stole a photo on the internet for as I didn't have time to snap a SOTD pic). First impression of this razor is aggressive, lots of blade feel. I would estimate that the Wunderbar is somewhere close to the ATT H or the Fatip OC. I had a momentary lapse in concentration this morning that resulted in a nice nick on my upper lip that closed up on its own by the time I was done with the third pass. After three passes I ended up with a super close BBS shave that I expect will be one of those long lasting BBS shaves. Inspired by Clint @clint64 I decided to finish with a splash of Myrsol Limon. I use to think that this AS was heavy on the menthol, but now that I've experienced the Stirling Glacials it seems rather mild. Have a great day my friends!
