Neat photo and nice setup, Perry! Enjoy the last few days inside...you'll be outside in the heat next week, right?
Thanks, Bruce! Yes, we are outside all next week. We rehearse from 7:30 to 4:00, all outside. Everyone brings shade tents and leaves them up all week. We take lots of water and rest breaks and serve them lunch. It actually works better to just stay outside instead of going out and back in to the nice air conditioning and then out again. Thank you, Jim!
That's right, Charlie...let Charles Bronson use Mandom-I got Clubman. How about that..."Man" in each aftershave.
Moving from Charlie to my shave today-as we recall, yesterday I was quoted as saying "Chiseled Face has that nice menthol. Course it ain;t Aqua Velva"*. Well, perhaps the SCENTS are different, but the menthol quality in both are about the same, I venture to say. That's a pleasant surprise, even as it is the Ghost Town Barber. I'll keep this one available for me in the summers now, and might...MIGHT..try it in high humidity. Stay tuned. *actually, that was me quoting myself )
July Focus As Charlie (@wristwatchb) so clearly elucidated, I am still riding that horse, or whatever it was in the picture. The Omega Boar thread prompted me to grab my Rubberset with an Omega Pro knot. Hint: If you want to make it through a tub of soap more quickly (yes, I know some of you call this wasteful), get yourself an Omega Pro. 63mm loft. 63mm!!!! Nothing, but nothing tears through soap like this brush. And because I am a confirmed "load it like you hate it" type of shaver, this brush fits the bill to a tee. (Have I used enough idioms yet?) Taking the bloom water and massaging it into my beard, I could "almost" make a pass at that point. But I didn't, and proceeded to take the laden Rubberset to the face. I could suffocate with all of this "buttercream"-ish lather, especially after adding some MORE water. Three passes with the docile R41. No nicks, cuts nor irritation. I did not pass go and, unfortunately, did not collect $200. Eschewed my usual post-shave Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel. Again, my wife standing faithfully (sarcasm) at my side, I poured an ultra-generous load of Floïd Mentolado Vigoroso into my palms and applied "vigorously" No comment from the Frau, snarky or otherwise.
Wonderful photo and lineup Perry. Good luck in the heat next week. Be sure to use sunscreen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 19 SOTD: Razor: Gillette Red Tip Blade: Polsilver Brush: Razorock Plissoft Lather: Barbon Aftershave: Barbon Additional Care: Osage Rub Stirling Unscented PSB A repeat of yesterday's shave again. It really is a nice set up to start a day. I probably have one or two more shaves out of this cream, then it will be done. My wife gets back late this evening, so everyone will be much happier around the house.
For the record, I sent Igor to the jail to check if we still have anyone there. If he's ever released I'll let you know what he found out. Guess it's a bad idea to send a minion to a jail. Probably didn't think that one through.
Nice, Jim! You made it through the week! I'm sure there will be a lot of smiles and hugs this evening! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
