Wonderful picture, Clint! Are your nature photos taken in your yard? They are just beautiful! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thank you Jim. Yes all my outdoor photos are taken in my lawn. I have a very shaded lot that tends to grow much more moss than grass.
It is so frustrating to finish up the last bit of shave soaps. Like you I swear there is a soap fairy foiling my attempts. Great report and photo as usual.
The challenge with the B&M special releases is that there are no samples available. Fortunately, they are pretty easy to sell if you get something like the Lavanille and realize it smells like vanilla-ee-rotting garbage. I've realized in the last month or so that its important to look at multiple releases by a soap maker. I have a couple that I really like the blends they come up with, like Jeeves of Hudson Street. I have others, like Black Ship Grooming Co., where I have purchased five scents to find one I like. BSGC blends scents that mostly aren't to my liking, Jeeves for the most part is. B&M scents are 50/50 for me. Their Seville, Sinfonia, and 42 are amazing. Others I have flat out hated, to the point where I wouldn't even put it on my face to see if there was a part of it I liked.
I ended up sadly tossing my Local Gent Shaving Co. Fields&Streams, when I got to the point where, in my judgement, I couldn't get enough soap onto the brush anymore. Like I've said, though, LG will be hearing from me again, though-possibly even for another Fields&Streams, but I might also try Cigar Lounge.
Ha ha. I proudly told my wife I had re-homed two soap and splash sets at the meet up, and was about to finish another soap so my soap collection was getting smaller. Of course I ended up with four new full sized tubs of soap at the meet up, and another 2 oz sample sized one, so the den didn't actually get reduced...
Excellent post, Joseph! Those product replenishment fairy's can be rather troublesome! Thank you, Jim!
Were I to end up in Colorado, I could easily return to being a Bronco fan. (I mean, I guess I always have been one, but this time they'd be my home team. )
July 20th Razor: Rex Ambassador (3) Blade: Gillette Nacet (2) Brush: SOC badger Pre shave: Stirling mentholated Soap: JoHS Blood on Steel Lucky Tiger face tonic AS: JoHS Blood on Steel Thirty consecutive shaves with the Rex. What a wonderful razor! I have shaved with it set at 1 to 6.5, all comfortable shaves. Set at one I really need the audible feedback. The angle that it actually removes stubble is very narrow at this setting, but get it right as I've said before, it's like wiping lather off my face with the back of a spoon and takes the whiskers with it. I have decided that 3 is the setting for me. Plenty efficient and forgiving. Some have complained of drag, not something I have noticed at all. Other than the price of admission, I would have no problem recommending this razor to any wet shaver, be it a novice or a seasoned vet. I think going forward I'm going to shave with a couple of neglected razors before starting a thirty shave run with the Timeless .95 SC. Have a great Friday, gentlemen! I find myself having mostly unfocused focuses lately, which is a politically correct way of saying I’m really not doing a focus; I’m mostly here for the Banter, Shenanigans, and to fight against the propaganda war being perpetuated with fake cookies. I find that the more polarizing scents of B&M are often an acquired taste. I don’t like them at first, but I’ve come to appreciate them the more I try. Some of them don’t make it over the hump, but most of them do.
