Thanks Fuzzy! I don't know what the rules are regarding links to another forum....but, I stumbled across a great post on TSN about various Gem razors. He showed close-up photos of the blades in relationship to the guards. The blade sits a little closer to the edge of the guard than on the Damaskeene, so it makes perfect sense that there's a little more blade feel with the Jr. - and that was his impression as well. The Yaqi is a nice brush. It lost its first hair with last night's shave. Not much backbone but it whips up a nice lather.

Thank you. It is staring to patina nicely and I do plan to just let it occur naturally. I am drying the razor after each use to prevent water spots. The E & F plates shipped and should be her mid to late next week.

Thank you, Clint! I don't think I have sat at my desk for more than 5 minutes at a time this whole week. Sometimes, having young engineers on your team means you get to spend some time answering a lot of questions, and we seem to be in one of those stretches now.

Awesome - they shipped out! I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on them. I ordered the Karve with the D & E plates last week, so I have a little while to wait before receiving it. Think I'll do the same as you - dry it off after using (which I do with all my others), and let it patina naturally. Trying to keep it "new" would be more effort than my laziness would allow.

 

Fortitude would probably be my Soap Commander choice, if I invested in SC. Looks good!

I've been on both sides of that table, Jim. I'm forever indebted to some kind folks that helped me. I hope someone thinks I helped them too. Does V still equal IR? I could barely understand DC circuits. AC circuits were way over my head.
