That's my problem, I have so much stuff. I'm thinking of trying to 3017 one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today’s shave was awesome, and kind of scary at the same time. Last two shaves were with the Woody razor @Jayaruh made using a Treet Special. Prior to that combo, I had never successfully shaved with a Gem style SE. I had tried a 1912 and another type, but the only blade I found was an unmarked set at the grocery store, shaving not hardware. They pulled, and whatever coating was on them made my face burn for a few hours. The Treet blade didn’t do that, so I grabbed my box of razors I didn’t want but got in lots with ones I did to see if I had an SE. Actually had two, but this was the cleaner one. Toothbrush, toothpick, and some dish soap and alcohol, and she was ready to go. It’s a GEM micromatic bullet tip that was gold at some point. Third shave on the blade, and my every other shave soap. Three passes, and some buffing. No blood, a little irritation, and a low grade DFS due to the neck. Would this be shaving like the Fuzzster? I have some Treet Specials in my Amazon cart. The reason I said this shave scared me is that I have completely ignored SE razors. Now I want to check out some others. Good news, there seem to be a ton of them out there in my area, because I didn’t buy them. Bad news, now I want to go back for them.

Hi All, reporting in from Germany where it's been extremely hot. Still shaving with my R89 and reporting back good clean shaves that are nearly BBS. Did a complete shave with my feather Clubman which was really good for a first shave. Having not shaved for a while (which I rarely do) I had time to observe my beard growth and realised that my WTG, ATG and XTG where all wrong. This has helped me adjust my technique resulting in better shaves and practically no irritation. It made me realise that you need a good mirror and lighting (as well as glasses in my case!), which needs to be part of your toolkit. My brother- in-law was given a whole load of DE razors and he sent me 4. Anyone know what they are? No markings at all. Photos attached. The whole razor is just under 8cm long and it's extremely light. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
I won't say that I have too much stuff, especially around my wife. If anything, I'm WAY understocked! Compared to many on here, I actually am... Unless you commit to using a particular tub, it can take a very, very long time to finish one. Some soaps more than others. Take Tabac....I've used mine quite a bit, yet it looks like there's barely any of it missing. I might be in a nursing home before it's gone. At which point I will have to get another one, since it's the official nursing home scent. BTW, you made me do homework. I had to look up 3017!
Congrats on an epic shave, Keith. What a great way to start the weekend! That's a very cool looking straight razor. Are the scales made of carbon fiber, and is there any practical reason to shave with a smiling blade? Or is it made that way just to look cool?
Welcome back, Simon. It's good to hear of your 'breakthrough' which is allowing you to get better shaves. Like you, my shaves often improve in steps when I learn something new. I'll have to let some other guys chime in on the mystery razors. How is your Dad doing?
Now you have a new rabbit hole to explore. Seriously congrats on finding that SE razors will work for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
