Any chance you're joining us for Cinco de Julio?

  1. Of course. In fact, I save my popsicle sticks for just this occasion!

The Bullet Tip or "Flying Wing" is the classiest looking Micro-Matic IMHO. Welcome to a new rabbit hole, I too resisted the call of the SEs for a while but caved in eventually. Time to be in the lookout for a G-Bar and a nice 1912 and maybe a Lather Catcher, these are the best in class SEs!

Whew, I am so glad it is Saturday. Even so, we still have a busy day ahead attending a my wife's family luncheon. At least I was able to get a relaxed shave to start the day. Two passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Antesol and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

  6. Thanks for your concern, my dad is doing as well as expected. Not back to normal and may never be, the off shoot of the strokes. I'm glad to have this time with him.

It was a busy week for me and I got behind on the thread. A cursory catch-up is done. Great shaves, everyone! A few more days of busy band work and then I'll be back to a somewhat normal routine. This week I was leaving home at 6am and working outside with kids all day. Arrived home about 5:30, showered and shaved and ate dinner. It was a tough week, but very productive as far as band stuff. Kids did a tremendous job.

Will be shaving later and will use The Fat and American Blend since I skipped yesterday.

    Razor: Timeless .95 SC
    Blade: Treet Platinum
    Brush: SOC mixed
    Pre shave: Stirling mentholated
    Soap: PAA Frost Byte
    Thayers Lavender
    AS: PAA Frost Byte

    Good morning gentlemen!

A nice cold shave to start the day. Other than cutting in my sideburns, I did the entire first pass lefty. Better but still not natural. The remainder of the shave I passed the razor back and forth between hands.

A couple of weepers on my neck and mild irritation. I blame that on over shaving not using my off hand.

    Have a great weekend![IMG]

They are faux carbon fiber. The smiling blade is very useful for shaving my neck as well as the dimple on my upper lip. I find a smiling razor is easier now than one that is perfectly straight.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick H1 injector
    Brush: JR #41 badger
Soap: RazoRock "What the Puck" Blue Barbershop
Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave

Well, I mentioned earlier I would use The Fat today, but I changed my mind. I hauled in this What The Puck soap earlier this week and went with it today. I've been using the aftershave for a while and really enjoy it. The soap is outstanding! Took my time loading as it's a hard triple milled soap. Used the super goop method and created creamy, slick, wonderful lather.

Also hauled in the Hussy razor from @Screwtape as a prize from the last TSD raffle. This is a fun little razor. But it's not a novelty - it's efficient and comfortable. Nice shave in the end.

I'm still trying to focus on soap reduction and have been using Stirling Grapefruit for the most part. Will continue with it and finish it off hopefully next week.

    Enjoy your weekend!

I found myself using the exact same equipment (except for the brush) as yesterday, so I guess I am still focussing.
I had one of the most enjoyable, 100% buffing (all passes) shave ever; and it's due in no small part to Fine soap.
There are only a couple of soaps that, when combined with a smooth, sharp blade and a well-designed razor,
that can facilitate a 100% buffing shave, so it's clear that Fine can produce a super-slick lather---and it does.
(I will be posting a "blooming tutorial" on the S.B.O.A. thread after I finish here)
The Mondial 26mm is a beast and has already broken in so wonderfully. I am of the opinion that these boar brushes
are the best value your money can buy.
Gillette 7 O'Clock in the Ranger Tech was again a winner. :happy036:
The Fine AS is another "great quality and value" in the aftershave department.
