What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Beautiful razor Keith. That’s one style I haven’t tried yet. How are they to hone and strop?

 

Stroping is the same as any other razor, just make sure you cover the entire edge. I have only maintained this edge and it is a little tricky. I had to watch Glen's videos to figure out how to do it.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #302 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Hartsteel 5/8 Straight Razor on loan from @Redfisher and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Family Dollar Spice AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

I wanted a fine, no-nonsense shave this morning, so I rounded up the usual suspects. User Filly 14 and I Coloniali Mango Oil lathered with a lovely Tulip 2. A little Harris Pink was followed with a splash of Mont St Michel Naturelle Classique 'cologne' which is very mild and fresh.

Gold Dollar 66 refreshed on a Surgical Black Arkansas. Nice shave. Alum block told me I overall got a little too close but thank God for mentholated aftershave. Now a nice smooth shave and a numb face. Ahhh...life's little joys.

I've been on vacation for a couple of week, grew a beard, shaved it off, with a DE razor, and shaved again today, with a straight razor. I had a fantastic two pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. wonderful to use a straight razor again.

Razor- Geneva Cutlery.

Brush- Stirling Boar
Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman.

 

I had an absolutely lovely shave with this near wedge Lund. I’ve got another classic Sheffield in ivory on the way and tonight’s shave made the waiting a little more bearable.
