A wonderful three pass shave to kick off “Anything Goes August “. Everything worked well together with a near perfect shave. A splash of Antesol and I think I’m ready for the crazy commute. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: Jayaruh 'Woody' SE
    Brush: JR #60 synthetic
Soap: Country Club for Men Cahaba Blues
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave

I'm on board with Anything Goes August. Soap reduction is my main goal.

This razor made by Jayaruh is on pass-around. @Drygulch had it last and forwarded on to me. What a beautiful razor! Jim is quite the craftsman. I pulled out a PTFE blade and secured it with the clip. Lathered on some exceptional Cahaba Blues and got to shaving. The razor is really light and I was a little worried about that, but it turned out to be wonderful. Great shave in the end. I'll use this razor a few more times this week before sending it on.

Great way to start the month. I'm enjoying everyone's pictures and comments as usual. Have a great day!

In. Always in. Will switch between the Fatboy, the Rex, and an occasional straight shave. Soap reviews will continue, as will the cookie rebellion.

This is normally the part of the program where I rant and rave to try to convince everyone of the truth that the cookies are not real. I’m not talking propaganda picture cookies; I get that those are real. I’m talking real cookies let somebody bakes, shares, eats and enjoys without being used as a cartel pawn. However, in a surprise move, I’ve decided to forgo my introductory rant for the month. Why? Well, I figured that railing against something that doesn’t exist may not be totally necessary. I mean really, who rants against the existence of fairies, goblins, or the Easter bunny? Is there a point here? Isn’t it kind of self evident? Just saying...

    VIVE LA REVOLUCION!!!

    Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless
    Simpson's CH2 Synthetic(27mm, Destroyer Class)
    RazoRock XXX
Aqua Velva Ice Sport (in Avon Rook decanter) mixed in palm w Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB

In this month of aggressive razors the Blackland Dart is already setting the bar quite high. I consider aggressiveness to be two different traits, blade feed and efficiency. The Dart has both in spades. Use too shallow of an angle or pressure of any kind and the Dart will let you know your doing something wrong. Find the sweet spot in the angle (which is steeper then most razors) and use absolutely no pressure and the Dart will obliterate your beard in two passes. My shave this morning featured The Soap Destroyer which made short work of whipping up the great smelling RazoRock XXX into a rich, creamy, goopy lather. Finished off with a splash of AV Ice Sport mixed in my palm with a dollop of Stirling Glacial Unscented balm which made for a great smelling, face freezing finish. Have a fantastic day my friends!

I only own two adjustable razors, this 1958 D3 Fatboy and a Merkur Progress,
so the challenge will have to involve
    adjusting these razors.
Today, I set the FB to 1. Tomorrow, 2, etc.
On the "1" setting, I had barely any blade exposure. The correct angle is extremely narrow,
so finding it---and keeping it, was not that simple. Doable, however.
Multiple passes and while it was a VERY smooth shave, BBS was out of reach.
Campfire shave soap. Excellent slickness and protection.
Blonde Badger/face lather. Terrific knot on the 2XL.
    Personna 74 shave #2.

    Good morning, friends!

We're at our gate. I tried to make things quick and easy going through security but not to be. I put my razor in the bin, leather flap flipped open. TSA agent said everything in the bags and took my bin. Well my bag was pulled aside for further inspection. No big deal he just verified there wasn't a blade in it, just a bit of a delay. All good.

    Have a great day!
