Just outstanding Matt. I tried bidding on an F friday, but lost. One of these days I will get lucky and pick up one of those beauties.

Razor - Qshave Futur Clone :)eek:)
    Blade - [IMG] (4)
    Soap - Stirling Sheep
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum, Styptic

Staying with the Personna 74 to the bitter end. I doubt today will be the bitter end given its reputation. Rarely do I go more than 3 shaves on a blade, mainly because they are cheap and I don't want to risk a bad shave for pennies. But...this one needs to be run to the end. I decided to go to the biggest gap of all tonight and use the Qshave on 6 - setting Me on every steroid ever made. I used Stirling Sheep with the Stirling brush for a great mutton powered lather.

Only two passes and some touch up since I'm not in a trial at this point. Besides, at setting OMG on this razor you shouldn't need more. You can hear it working and definitely feel the blade. Too much, in fact, on the set down as I started my XTG pass. I forgot to stay up on the cap on the start of the stroke and put a nice little slice in my cheek near my ear. Took alum and styptic to close it up when I was done. Stupid error, really, knowing how big of a gap I'm dealing with here. I've done the same thing before. It's a habit I need to break.

The finish is a nice BBS with quiet alum except for the cut. So no complaints there. The feel of the P74? Smooth. Just smooth. And I have the bloody result to tell me it's still sharp. Very sharp.

Hope your weekend is going well! We won't mention Keith's tonight. Too close to the end I fear. So I'm not saying anything about it. Nothing. Nada. Mum's the word. :shocked002:

Shampoo - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum Puck
    [IMG]
Razor - Antique Gillette 1907 Old-Type (fully restored and re-plated in gold by Razor Emporium)
Blade - Wilkinson Sword *8th Shave
Shave Brush - 20mm GBS Synthetic 3rd generation
Shave Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Post-Shave Balm - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Deodorant - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Aftershave/Cologne - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum in Stoneware Jug

I will likely only use the aftershave, but will have the EDP spray ready just in case I want another shot of rum. Man, this stuff is ridiculously addictive smelling. I usually don't rotate back to a scent this quickly in the last year.

**EDIT - The 8th shave on this blade seemed perfect. I will be giving it a 9th shave as it shows no sign of being dull. Still giving a perfect result.

    Pre: Cold water face wash,
    Brush: Semogue 1470 Boar
    Soap: OSP Bay Rum
    Razor: Colonial General Brass
    Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post: Cold water rinse, Benjamin's Bay Rum (sample) ASL

In my ongoing search for a Bay Rum, I went with the Benjamin's Bay Rum today. Someone on a British forum kindly sent me four samples, to help me in my quest, and this is one of them.
I like it, very light, not sweet, but I suspect it's not going to hang around for very long.

Wishing you all a great Sunday.

    Good morning to all

Tried a new razor, Dollar Tree razor. Just to see how it mowes the lawn.

    Witch Hazel wake up splash
    Cold water shave
    Face
    Razor Dollar Tree
Blade Derby Extra (new) why? I don't know, it's cheap like the razor
    Soap Italian Barber Amici
    Head
    Razor RR German 37 slant
    Blade Dorco ST301 (new)
Brush Q shave badger cheap one that works good.
The more I use it, the better it works, the better it works the more I use it. It's just a vicious circle.

    Face
Interesting razor, reminds me of the Van Der Hagan DE razor that I paid to much for. A good 2 pass shave, one that I would have wished for when I was using the plastic throw aways. Nothing fantastic yet nothing bad. I would have no problem using this tool and blade combo for travel or just a one timer to get me by.
Now to try the blades that came with it.

    Head
    Nice one pass
    Smooth, clean

    Ready for the day

Just another fabulous shave with the Blackbird. Efficient but somehow remarkably smooth for a more-aggressive razor. Brings a DFS feel on the first pass, that’s how much stubble it removes. Another thing, the Wickham 1912 soap is a brilliant performer for a vegan soap. The slickness, cushion and lather it provides is almost as good as any Tallow based soap in my den save for a couple. And it’s all vegan! Post shave is where it comes up just a tad short but, by no means a slacker at all. Hell of a soap, period. Have a great Sunday and wonderful shaves Gents... :happy088:

    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/new Astra
    Proraso Green SS
    Prep ASB
    Osage Rub AS Splash
    Quorum EdT

A very good shave which I really didn't enjoy because Proraso Green is something I've lost my taste for. Yes, it lathers great but it seems to leave my skin feeling dry and irritated. The Prep balm (from South Africa) fixed that problem right away and the Rubby Dubby Doo felt heavenly-cold so today wasn't a total loss after all!

    Enjoy your Sunday!

    Aqua Velva AS

Marking 45 years of marriage to the same wonderful lady today. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #309 brush. I did two passes with the Gem Junior Bar Lather Catcher Razor with a Sha-Ve-Zee Blue Back SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
