Hayashi Diamond 8000 this morning, a lovely shaver. Acca Kappa 1869 pre-reformulation was the lather fuel and a 2-band HMW mixed it all up. A dab of l'Occitane Cade balm finished off a really good shave.

Rapidly becoming one of my favorites... size, grind, and spine work coming together for a very enjoyable shave. ;)

Tonight's shave was with a Newly Acquired, Restored, and Honed, Japanese Razor. Thanks to @Pilotcld and his wife, for the translation on the blade. I had a very nice 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. Another 50-100 strokes on the leather should smooth it out very nicely. Excellent razor, as are almost all Japanese Made Straight Razors.

Razor- HINODE Yasuhira. Made Humbly by Taihei.
Brush- B400 By Tom( @twhite ). Whipped Dog Boar. 6 hairs lost.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Scented
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Steve, I may have asked this before.... are the scales and covered tang original? That is a very cool razor.

OK, I'm inspired, tomorrow I will use a Riga Razor too.

Hi @Keithmax - on the user-grade Favorit 6000 (not 8000, I was apparently having an attack of fuzzy memory and didn't bother to look) both the scales and the covered tang are original. Here's one that's NOS and you can read the print on the tang more easily. This one has been re-scaled in black horn with a red lining, but other than replacing the original warped scales it is factory fresh.

    Cheers, Steve

Well, since I had the NOS Tanifuji Favorit 6000 out and hadn't used it in a while, that's what I used. Cream was AdP lathered with a Simpsons 57, and a splash of Harris Pink topped the shave off. Oh, and also a shot of the obverse tang showing the Tanifuji 'stamps'.

    Cheers, Steve

New arrival today and pressed into service this afternoon. I am a sucker for ivory clad old Sheffields. If you look up Kendal & Dent you probably won’t find anything about their razors. They are noted as fine watchmakers. But, somewhere along the line they put their skills to use to make this razor. :happy088:

The maiden shave was a winner but I’m looking forward to the next shave having put a few laps of red paste on it. :happy036:
