Thank you, Perry! The more I use the scent, the more I like it. The only downside is that like most citrus scents, it doesn't have great staying power.
August 7th Razor: Timeless .95 SC Blade: Wilkinson Sword (1) Brush: Maseto Finest 2 band Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: JoHS Tobacco Bay Lucky Tiger face tonic AS: JoHS Tobacco Bay Tobacco Tuesday! Great shaves, reports and photos today! Yesterday was a no shave day as I got to the airport early. Back home shave this morning. I did something different today trying to mimic the glide and residual slickness I was getting in New Orleans. I kept freshening the lather on my face as I shaved. Pretty darn close to what I was getting in the more humid climate. I have tried many different ways of making my lather. Face lathering, bowl lathering, Marco's method, super goop method, nearly dripping wet and so thick and pasty it didn't want to rinse off the razor. This way worked for me. Two pass with touch up, near BBS. Just a wonderful shave! Have a great day! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Really a first rate lineup today. You have an amazing collection of hardware and software. Excellent picture as usual. You're using the big guns with the Toggle again today. You are a true road warrior. At least you have a first rate travel setup. Excellent photo Jim. Seems like you had a great trip as well.
Thank you Bruce. The Tranquility has a dent for sure. However, the Nuavia Blu and AOS Ocean Kelp will be the next "done and dusted". Thank you Bruce and Jim. Today is freaking fantastic, now that I have figured out the problem. It is still early but I can safely say that a few adult beverages will be consumed later this afternoon.
Excellent photo, Jim! Top notch work the Toggle and GLO! Excellent shave Brian! I love seeing your vast collection of straights! Great shot Jim, I usually keep my lather dripping wet. Glad you found something that worked better for you! Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Thanks, Perry! Jeeves is some great stuff! Thank you, Clint. We had a great time! Thank you, Andrew! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I've not been on here for a while, but I'm back for another focus! I have decided that if so many men can get good shaves out of a Merkur 34c, then so can I! I have started using the 34c paired with Feather blades and will be doing so for an entire month. My focus will be (and has been): Shaving every other day, using this pre-shave routine, this razor grip, and using the Feather blade only three times. My soap will be the Palmolive mashed in a mug, brush is the Bluebeard's Doubloon, and the aftershave balm is the Nivea sensitive. So far I have had two wonderful damn fine shaves! I hope you are all well.
That's great to hear! Sticking with one razor did wonders for the quality of my shaves and they're still getting better. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Thanks, gentlemen, for the kind words. I've taken the last few photos on my sink top with my phone. My Bride laughed at me for using a roll of toilet paper to steady the phone. Necessity is the mother of invention, right? I moved the photo studio to the dining table and used my mini-tripod last night. As a budding photographer, I doubt that Ansel Adams endured such disrespect in his own home. Clint, thanks for asking about the house. The basement is dug, and the footers have been poured. The basement walls will be poured any day now. We've picked out most of our interior design selections. It will be good to see some walls going up. I'll post a photo or two once there is something to see.
That is a great way to master a razor. It really helped me. You are very smart to just use the Feather blades three times. They are the only blade I use and only use them 3 times each.
That's funny, Charlie! My wife doesn't bat an eye anymore. I have a cardboard box with a towel in it along with whatever that day's shave gear is. I wander the house looking for the best light. The box and towel come into play when the background is less than desirable. All my photos are taken with my cellphone. Looking forward to seeing the pics of your new abode!
