Todays aggressive shave turn out not so aggressive. The PAL IM loaded with a blade that probably had two or three shaves on it was quite smooth actually. And though it was efficient it was not able to pull off the two pass BBS. A DFS was had though and without blood or irritation. I finished with a splash of my homemade lime AS and then some Stirling Lime PSB. Have a great day my friends!

Nipped across the border this week to pick up my Blood on Steel combo. Still rolling with the Short Handled Black Beauty. Set it at 5 this morning to continue working through the settings.
First of all, thanks again to @Drygulch for putting the work in to get this combo created and thanks to @Jeeves of Hudson Street for making it happen with another quality product.
I took it to the bowl this morning, as I like to do with all new to me soaps. This is my 3rd Jeeves soap (Apothecary, Key Lime) and 4th scent (Tobacco/Bay in AS) and I find that these soaps do very well in the bowl when you can throw tonnes of water at them. I do find that my thirstiest soaps (this brand and B&M Reserve for sure) do much better in the bowl than straight on the face. After a 20 sec load with the Tuxedo, I produced a large volume of some of the best lather I’ve gotten. 3 passes later, I am completely smooth, and washed enough lather for two more passes down the drain.
As for the scent, Rick @RyX described it as ‘Apple Pie’. I can see why, and probably because of the cinnamon. It is more, though. The cinnamon isn’t in your face, and there is a heck of a lot more going on. I find it quite complex, actually. I get a whiff once in a while that has a bit of similarity with tobacco/Bay, and other moments not so much. I’ll spend more time with it, that’s for sure. I also acknowledge that I am lousy at describing scents.
To be honest, with the cool graphics and the nod to the 30DC, I’d have been pretty happy with anything unique. This definitely fits the bill.
    Have a great day all!

You know, I found the Injectomatic to be a little more friendly, a little less ‘meatgrinder’ the past few uses as well. Using basically negative pressure is the key I think.

A wonderful photo again, Jim. I have heard others on here describe the scent of that soap the same way- pleasant but not nearly as tobacco forward as the name would suggest.

Sounds a lot like some of my meetings coming up next week. At least it was a great shave to start the day with, Jim!

Great pic! I hear consistently good things about the Wickhams, Perry. Is that your only scent?

Ball end tech vs. fat handle tech... Which do I buy if I have to choose?

    GO!

Personally, my fave is a prewar Canadian fat handle. That being said, my ‘51 Canadian Ball-End is a fine shaver as well. You can’t go wrong with a Tech.

I already have an aluminium handled Made in England Tech... I am just looking at some in mint condition that have peaked my interest as an alternative to buying an iKon Bulldog handle!

Thank you, Clint! This AS fades fairly quickly; I actually paired it with a cologne this morning, as I knew it would be gone by the time I got to work.
