A while back, @twhite sent me some of those ferrules that were used for Gem and Ever-Ready handles that @Jayaruh made. The only difference was to not drill any holes in them. And after some time, they got misplaced, until last week. I had an idea for a razor handle that wouldn't be hard to make. In the following pic are the items I used. A metal tube from a large size electronic cigarette, which has a carbon fiber vinyl wrap. Two ferrules, which I drilled a hole in one of them, a short steel travel handle and some BB's. The handle is wrapped in tape, which I'll explain later.......... First I put the handle in the tube with the neck flush with the end. The tape made a friction fit so it wouldn't move and helped to center it. I then flipped it over and filled the open space with BB's and epoxy so the handle wouldn't be top heavy. Then I epoxied the closed ferrule on to the end. Then I put epoxy into the top around the neck of the short handle and epoxied the top ferrule, with the hole, on the tube. This pic showing the completed result, total length is 3 1/6". It's about 1/16" longer than a Tech fat handle and wider. The weight felt nice.......... Here is how it looks on a DE89 head. The heavy weight and wide handle feels real good..........
Very nice work. I love the dark color contrasting with the razor. Sent from my DROID Turbo using Tapatalk
