Thursday August 9 - off into the wild blue yonder
Yesterday I developed a Focus for the rest of the month, involving comparing my two adjustable injectors, the PAL adjustable and the Supply Co V.2 interchangeable -- and possibly the Schick M I just discovered in my cupboard that I have never tried. So today, I deviated from it. Inspired by
@jtface and others on this thread, I dug out my Dad's old Gillette pre-War triangle-slot fathandled Tech and used that, paired with a vintage Wilkinson Sword Classic blade.

The Gillette adjustables are classics of Fifties engineering that provide a razor able to suit almost anyone or any mood, with some nice gadgetry to monkey around with. But the Tech might be Gillette's alltime best razor design -- deceptively simple, humble, unassuming, but incredibly reliable and efficient enough for almost any shaver while mild enough to be almost nick-proof.
Mine gave me a two-pass drama-free DFS today. No need to test with the alum. I paired it with a pleasant simple soap, whipped up with a sturdy brush, then topped it off with an aftershave/cologne that now qualifies as ancient -- the once-ubiquitous Florida Water.
It was a good shave. I will probably run this setup for awhile and see how many shaves I get out of the 40 or 50 year old British Wilkinson Sword blade.
