  1. Good points on Adjustables. In the end, I guess the main question to ask is ‘Am I getting an exceptional shave from it?’. If the answer is yes, at that point, it becomes just a great razor, and the fact that it is adjustable/cool/good engineering etc becomes secondary.
I think most of us are to the point where we are going to get a good shave on most settings on most of these. I do enjoy playing around with mine each August for the focus, and will continue to use them for that fun purpose.
  2. With MWF, Yes. It performs better when it's hydrated and will actually swell to fill the container. You'll understand what I mean when you get it!

  4. So it's best to buy the container and the puck, as opposed to just the puck?

  7. Lots of Mitchell’s love on here lately! Sounded like a great start to the day, Perry. Enjoy your weekend!
Cool photo, Jim. Have the PAA splashes just about become your favourites?
Sorry about the commute, Clint. Hopefully the one home is going/went well. Love the B&W affect on the quarter sawn oak!
Another stunner. Your photos look professional, Jim. What do you think of the Mudder Focker? IB has the Boelis Panama that it is based on in soap bowls now. Quite pricey, though.
Your ‘whimsical’ posts have become a highlight of the thread, Joseph. Great stuff!
Good to see you posting pics again, Bruce!
Hope the trip went well, Brian! Have you finished unpacking all your shaving gear at home yet?
Yup, TGIF! My son tries to plug his ears when I talk as well...:)
Yup, lots of Mitchell love. Great to hear you don’t have the issues with it that others seem to, John. A great, classic razor as well! Canadian model?

  8. You can stick it in any container you like, but I think it looks better in SOTD photos when it's in its own ceramic container. The diameter of the regular puck is just a little bigger then 3 inches and I think the inner diameter of the ceramic container is about 3.5 inches and the puck will swell to fill the gap when it is well hydrated. there is a thread that I will look for you that you may find helpful.

  10. Thanks for sharing this Andrew. Your input is, as always, gratefully received and appreciated!
  11. That's a very nice compliment, thank you, Jason!
I like the performance and post shave feel of the Mudder Focker but the scent is just ok, imho. As of right now I'm saying it won't be replaced when it's gone.

  13. The loose top heavy feeling was with "brand spanking new" FatBoys from back in the day. ;) As far as the shave goes, Gillette could have quit once they designed and manufactured their 47' Superspeed and the 47' Aristocrat. fwiw
  14. The trip went well. Thanks. I still haven’t got it all unpacked

Great photos and report, Andrew! Glad everything is well with your wife, too.

  20. Thank you Jason. The commute home was even worse. However the day in between was excellent.
