Barrister and Mann Reserve Soap - Great Stuff

I used Barrister and Mann's Reserve Classic this morning. What a great soap. I have never used a soap or cream with as much slickness and residual slickness. The razor (Timeless Bronze) just flew over my face. And, the residual slickness is such that I think you could do a second or third full pass without regathering. This soap and after shave smell great to. This is an amazing soap. The only problem is getting it dialed in. You need very little soap (I used 15 swirls) and you then just add water (quite a lot) until you get it to your desired consistency. Its taken me awhile to learn the right amount of soap. Anybody else like this stuff? What are your thoughts?

 

Yup it's nice stuff but it does load a brush fast and you're dead on about a lot of water!

Ive heard great things but i need a little push in regards to making a purchase... The Reserve Sounds like good Stuff....

 

Have they stopped making Latha?

Excellent soap performance. Not necessarily better than others that cost a lot less.

Where they distinguish themselves is the scents. They tend to be unique and well done. Still subject to individual tastes of course. Maybe grab a few samples from Maggard or Shave Dash to see if anything grabs you.

I personally hate the scents B&M makes but thats my taste. I find them to be over done and almost muddy. If that makes sense.

I do like Cheshire.

But im all for people using whatever products they love. Thats how it should be.

 

Agreed, different strokes for different folks....

 

There are a few still floating around. statestreetbarbers.com still had a tub of lavanda last time I looked.

How does B&M Frost Byte compare to Stirlings Glacials ( In terms of menthol strength/power)

 

Hate is a strong word. I haven't smelled roam, but I'd probably hate that one. No smoke for me, thanks. There are a couple that I really like though. I just wouldn't buy one without smelling it first.

 

Hate is strong but ive smelled alot that i absolutely wouldn't put on my face. Night music smelled like my body odor after working in a 100 degree paint booth all day.

Im not talking anyone out of using them or buying them. I just dont like their use of musks in their soaps
