Fantastic news John. I know you feel much better just being mobile. Congrats on the healing and I hope the progress continues.

Sorry the Forest Fires ruined the trip. I hope they are able to get them under control soon.

You have a very nice setup, and you're making great progress, James! When I first started DE shaving, I experienced some soreness as well. It eventually went away as I got more experience. Assuming, good face prep and lathering, try using even less pressure (barely enough to keep the blade on your skin), ride the cap of the razor (if the blade angle is right, you won't feel any tugging at all), and stretch your skin using the fingers on your opposite hand with each shaving stroke. It helps to turn off the running water and listen to the blade cutting your whiskers. That will help you dial in the correct blade angle. Use short (1" or so) shaving strokes and no shaving on un-lathered (unprotected) skin.

That's a lot to remember, so take it a step at a time. It will eventually become automatic. These are just some ideas that worked for me. Keep up the great work!

A fantastic shave to start the week. The little Rover loaded and lathered the Mike's OCBP easily. Two passes, ATG and XTG followed by touchups along my jawline had the baby within reach. So I lathered my lower right neck and buffed it smooth. A splash of Myrsol Limón and I am ready to fight the morning commute. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Now that's a fantastic way to start the week. I hope things are calming down for you at work, Clint. Have a smooth work week. :)

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline AC
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
    Brush: Zenith B02 boar
    Soap: C.O. Bigelow cream
Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave

Easy and effective shave with a menthol Monday theme. The Bigelow cream worked quite well and the Black Hawk swiped it away with ease. I enjoy the Pacific Rush aftershave and can't complain about this one bit. Nice way to start the work week.

    Enjoy your day!

Sorry to hear that wildfires are hitting your area again, Jason. I hope they can get them under control fairly fast.

Gorgeous photo, Clint! The F plate? On a workday? Thought you weren't gonna do that? ;)

Great photo and report, Neal! The Proraso Red is some decent soap. Our local TJ Maxx had only one tub...naturally, I grabbed it. I think it was $4 here, whereas I saw others post that their locations had it for $3. Can't knock the performance. The scent is pleasant, but nothing that makes you exclaim "WOW!".

It will be interesting to see how far you and Joseph can push the Personna 74's...

    August 13 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Slim
    Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Stick
    Aftershave: Canoe
    Additional Care:
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB

It was an active weekend, so I missed most of it. I am over 200 posts behind, and I don't know if I'll catch up. It was a great shave this morning with a two pass DFS. I hope everyone has a great day!
