Sun 12th Aug Vulfix 404 mixed Vitos Super Red King Cobra SE Schick Proline [1 ] Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion Having received the King Cobra yesterday I just had to give it a run out. Despite Its large size I had no real problems wielding it particularly on the upper parts of the face.I chose to use the dependable Vitos as I find the lather to be very good at providing slickness and good protection. Compared to my other modern SEs I would say that the King Cobra is quite aggressive, but at no time did I feel in danger of mishap. Apart from along one jawline the quality of the finished Shave was very good, but I did need an application of alum but other than that there were no post shave problems. Loading of a blade is easy but it is essential to ensure that it is flush to the rather short blade stops, as it is easy to move the lower blade plate because the rear pivots allow this movement.
Pre: Cold water face wash, Brush: Semogue 2000 Boar Soap: Tabac Razor: Ever-Ready 1924 Blade: Treets Super CS Post: Cold water rinse, Tabac ASL A lovely relaxing Sunday morning shave. I've seen on this thread quite a few people don't like this soap. Well, it can only be the smell they don't like because the soap is one of the best performers out there imo.
SE Sunday's Shave Clubman Classic Shave Cream Williams Mug Shave Soap Jayaruh #30 Gem 1907 Lather Catcher Original Gem Cutlery SE CWR Clubman Pinaud AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. I used Clubman Classic Shave Cream as a pre-shave. It is an non-lathering SC, so I just applied a thin layer before face-lathering the Williams Mug Shave Soap with the Jayaruh #30 brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1907 Lather Catcher Razor with an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Clubman Pinaud AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Have you all seen this? Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements is offering a new injector based on the Schick L1. It's available now for $17.95. Not sure what to think. I already have an L1 and not sure I need another one or a copy. But I'm certainly intrigued.

Interesting! Didn't know these were out there. Like I said, I have an L1 that's in beautiful condition. I don't feel the need to get one of these. However I didn't know other clones were being made. I haven't seen anyone use one on here, other than the Type O clone.
First pass (on a week beard) was not very efficient. But DFS with 3 pass. All items from my SOTD come from the same guy, 54Gasp, on Rasage Traditionnel forum. - Ever- Ready razor with a Marlin Blade (no stropped) - The brush is an Ever Ready handle reknoted with a new silvertip knot, (I put an O-ring to reduce the loft of the knot) - The soap is a Martin de Candre Original, re-potted in stick. (This soap is incredible: just a few soap on wet face, and with FL, a fantastic foam). - The After Shave is Handmaid by the same Guy.
Does anybody know what is going to happen with the eBarbershop Type O clone after they close later this month?
I was actually chatting with Douglas from PAA on Facebook and asked whether theirs was a new clone or a rebadge of one of the existing ones. Unfortunately, I did not get a specific answer. I did ask him to reach out to eBarbershop about carrying the Type O clone after they close. I have no idea if he will, however, or what might come of it. (He pointed out that companies tend to be secretive about their sources. He also does not seem to be overly fond of the Type O.) He did drop a hint, however, that he is working on his own Injector design... something he referred to as the "Micro Orbital Injector".

Mon 13th Aug Omega 11126 Speick Active Soap ES Claymore V1 + Windrose Handle Schick Proline [ 5 ] La Toja A/S Lotion Marvellous Monday. Sometimes all elements combine to make for a good experience. Today it was Lather, Razor & Blade condition that worked together to deliver one of my most satisfying Shaves ever. The Shave was so smooth and comfortable, that it was possible to eliminate all those last bits of stubborn whiskers so that I was left in a real face stroking mode.As time goes by this little known Razor with the non stock handle is becoming one of my favourites.
