    Adjustable August with an assist

    Proraso Green Preshave
TSS / Ginger's Garden Acqua di Florida SS
    Omega boar #20248 brush
    Suribachi bowl, cool water
The Bunny - NotSo comb, Chick blade
    Osage Rub, M&L Florida Water
SOTD 08132018.gif Had an audience while making lather. Granddaughter Jenisis asked if she could apply it. "Of course!" Guess I chose my biggest brush so yeah, a little outside the shaving zone, but no harm done. Three passes with the open comb adjustable SE and I felt cleaned up enough for today's afternoon activity - Orientation/Open House at the twins new school. A splash of Osage Rub for the additional cooling started by the preshave soap, and finished with soap matching scented cologne. The girls are 7 years old, going into 2nd grade. Not identical twins and very competitive. Sister Melody gets to assist during my next shave.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Awesome! I wish you guys all the best for tomorrow. Our 2nd came via Caesarian as well, and my wife actually had a quicker recovery time than our first one. I hope it goes just as well for her, too.

Fantastic Rick Pic, and an even better story around the lather application!

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed post! I most certainly will keep at it! I might have to start using a bowl again instead of face lathering - to get the hydration of the lather dialed in (sorry Fuzzy). Massive congratulations in advance for tomorrow! Super excited for you!

Thank you, Brian, for the kind words. I wish you much success on your healthy lifestyle journey. It must be especially challenging with your travel schedule, but I have no doubt that you will be successful.

At the rate we're all going, next year's meet up will resemble something between a movie star reunion and a body building convention. :happy097:

James, if it's any consolation, it took me at least a year (without the help from this fine crew on the 30DC) to become satisfied with my shaves. I shaved the first few months with a DE razor after using an electric razor for 30 years. It was a steep learning curve for me. Then, I decided to use a Feather AC Professional shavette for about six months, and that's when I started making progress. The shavette had a way of penalizing poor technique. When I picked up a DE razor again, things had started to fall into place.

I joined this group of scoundrels when it began, and they have helped me immensely since that time. Everyone's journey is different, but I have no doubt that you'll eventually master any type of razor you choose to use. Every so often, you'll pick up a new skill to make the shaves even better. I call those "small breakthroughs." Over time, that has allowed to progress from fair four-pass shaves to some consistently good two-passers. As you go along, you'll also find yourself mentoring others that are just getting into traditional wet shaving, and that's a lot of fun.

Hang on to the Polsilver blades. Down the road, I think you'll find them to be a great blade. I'm really glad you're here with us. :)
