    Prep: pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Big Ben
    Brush: Yaqi 26mm synthetic
    Soap: Country Club Root Beer
    Post: WSP Tobacco A/S

Very nice BBS shave the other day. Went with CC Root Beer which is their vegan formula, scent is not really my thing, but performance is excellent. The WSP Tobacco aftershave has a strong scent that lasts quite a while.

Prep: Occams Crushed Lime pre shave soap
    Razor: Gillette Superspeed Flair Tip

    Blade: Treet Classic (1st shave)
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: Lisa's Natural Gentlemens Lavender
    Post: SC Courage balm

Refreshing shave with Lisa's Gentlemen's Lavender. Scent is quite nice and it whipped up a creamy lather. Not the closest shave but still went well. The Courage balm felt amazing.

    Brush: Yaqi 26mm synthetic
    Soap: Dr. Jon's Bandit
Post: Mickey Lee Italian Stallion A/S milk

Decent shave with Dr. Jon's Bandit. Unique citrus scent that reminds me a bit of L&L Puzzle, and paired great with Italian Stallion milk. Whipped up a creamy lather in the copper bowl that provided a swell shave. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves!

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20180814_191244.jpg

Prep: Occams Crushed Lime Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Gillette Super-Speed Flair Tip
    Blade: Treet Classic
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: Perfectly Natural- Frozen Earth
    Post: CL TSM Fougere Salve

First shave with Perfectly Natural soap today. The scent is vetiver cedarwood with menthol, wonderful blend and is different having a vetiver menthol experience compaired to citrus (or other mentholated scents). This was not the best place to evaluate a new soap since the water is difficult to lather with over here, but the shave went well. Will experiment further but so far so good. The soap is kokum butter based so it provided a thick lather and good post shave. Hope everyone had a great shave!

Tonight's shave was a fantastic shave. I wiped away 2 days growth, with 2 passes, with little effort. The end result was a BBS shave. This is one of my top shavers.

Brush- RazoRock 400 with WD High Mountain Badger.

When Abraham from West Coast Shaving contacted me with an opportunity to try out their new line of soaps, I'd assumed he'd researched me a bit and was familiar with my tastes. The launch soaps are: Fougère, Cologne, Chypre, Oriental, and Pear-Brrr Shoppe. Those that know me, know a fruity fragrance would be last on my list. Of course, the pear-centric soap is the one I got.

Pear-Brrr Shoppe opened with a bold, but natural ripe pear. As the lathering progressed, the note became sweeter, and for a brief moment, I would have sworn I detected Green Apple Jolly Rancher. I honestly have no idea where it came from, but it was fleeting and ultimately acted as the turning point from a lively fruity fragrance to a more sober gentle powdery woody accord. At this point, Pear-Brrr Shoppe owned the traditional American barber shop profile, but then a latent cooling effect crept in. The menthol presence remained pleasant and gentle throughout the shave, and seemed to carry the pear note maintaining an overall brightness. I'm a shower shaver and during the Summer months, I only use cold water for my showers. This gives the menthol a bit more zip while rinsing, but never unsettling.

It's my understanding that customers will have a choice between soap base or cream base for each of these launch products. My tub of Pear-Brrr Shoppe uses Catie's Bubbles' Luxury Cream base and despite the flood of top artisan bases, it maintains it's place as one of my favorite performers. The cream is very easy to lather and can handle a wide water range, but I recommend feeding it a generous amount for optimal results. First pass and residual slickness are both outstanding and the post shave is matched by only a few in the business. A post-shave product can easily be skipped, but even if you use a simple alcohol-based splash, the jojoba provides a lasting softness to my scalp and face.

I admit, I shook my head and fully expected to dislike Pear-Brrr Shoppe when it arrived, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It was actually fun and enjoyable with the opening, but it ultimately developed into a fragrance I'll actually reach for.

Full disclosure, it should be inferred, but I'll clearly state that I didn't pay a dime for this soap. Abraham asked if he could send it to me in exchange for my honest opinion. This very well could have shot him in the foot, especially sending me a fruit-forward product, but ultimately I honestly enjoyed this fragrance, and I'm very happy to have another tub of Catie's Bubbles' Luxury Cream base.

Razor - West Coast Shaving Midnight Collection 84B

Shave Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Sangre De Drago

Post-shave Balm - Retseliney Luxury Skin Care Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum
Deodorant - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Sangre De Drago
Fragrance - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Sangre De Drago EDP

Never shaved with the West Coast Shaving razor or the Treet Blades before, so this will be a first-time use scenario.

***EDIT - The WCS 84B gave a fantastic shave. Just as good as Edwin Jagger. Super smooth skin afterwards. Loved the whole set I shaved with this morning. The soap quality, the scent, the post-shave feel. Even during the shave it felt comfortable with zero tugs, zero resistance on a clean, clean 3-pass. Only a very shallow, weeper formed that quickly went away within seconds after wiping the skin. Great shave on the whole.
