    Thank you, Clint!

    Thank you, Bruce!

Congrats on the new razor, Clint. Glad it went so well on the first use. Great photo as usual.

    Thank you, Jim!

Nice photo, Jim! Interesting mix of Aqua Velva scents on your aftershave.

Great writeup on the razor, Clint! It'll be interesting to see what your thoughts are as you continue to use it, and on the other plates. Have a great (hopefully easy) day!

I'm guessing when/if I finally do it, I won't be able to figure out HOW I did it. That's how it works with me frequently. There is a video showing how to do it(well actually the video covers everything about the Trac), but it isn't quite the "walk-through" video I was hoping for. But at least it helps encourage use of the razor.

Great write ups and photos, gentlemen! Clint, I'll be interested to see what you think of that razor after you use it for awhile and try the other plates. Perry, Jason also sent me a sample of that soap once. Tobacco scents aren't my favourite, but the First Canadian soap base really is excellent! Jim, as usual, a neat filter effect on your pic.

Thanks, Bruce. Looking at the Russian razor, I can see places where the molding or stamping of the baseplate left little tag ends of metal sticking out here and there in the slots. Not an encouraging sign of wonderful workmanship (unlike @Vlasta's brush). It doesn't look like any of the rough edges would touch the skin though...

Will do. I intend to use it for the next week or two and will post a review on your thread (as well as regular reports here). I can already tell that the workmanship of the handle is excellent and the silvertip badger knot you sourced for it is very good quality...

John, I agree. That soap base seems to be first rate. I look forward to some more uses of it.

Thank you Gentlemen. @Keithmax I should have referenced you with the Epic Shave comment.

I will use the razor again tomorrow as well as all next week. So I will update my thoughts on the OREN after more uses.

For this morning's shave, I made a couple changes with my Dorco usage. Went ATG a bit(as I do for the most partwith the Sensor Deuce), and that seemed to work well enough. I also focused more on the "chipping" of my jawbone, hoping it wouldn't result in a serious cut or two. It didn't. Nice shave again-I could easily here the sandpapering, thus I knew it was doing its job. . I'm putting it aside for a few days, essentially to extend its blade strength.

Absolutely not shaving related, but this morning's news requires a short break in memory of a great woman. Rest in Peace Aretha.

Thank you, Clint. Today is definitely a bit slower. I hope this trend continues for a while. Have a great day!

We weren't at home when my razor was delivered, so the postman took it to the depot where it can only collected tomorrow. A little gutted, but never mind eh?!
I was at the barber shop this morning (traditional place), and there was a vintage Gillette Flare Tip in mint condition adorning one of the decorative shelving units... It belonged to the owner's friend's grandad! Way cool!
