Beautiful picture, Clint! I am going to have to avoid reading your comments else I might be tempted into another razor purchase.

    August 17 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Slim
    Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Stick
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue/Musk mix
    Additional Care:
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB

A complete repeat of yesterday's shave, so I figured I would recycle the picture as well. Two passes, DFS. What more could you really want? A nice way to clean up after a work out and get my day going. I hope everyone has a great day!

Great photo and report, Clint. We're almost to the weekend...where you watch TV, have a few adult beverages, and buy more shaving gear. ;)

Keith, congrats on the epic shave! Have fun with your Brother in the UK and travel safely. Palmolive shave soap and shave cream and Wilkinson products were common (and inexpensive) in the local chemist's shops of the small towns we visited. If you're spending time in London, it's fun to check out Taylor of Old Bond Street and Geo F. Trumper. Have fun!

Wonderful shave report, James! You got a new razor, so you had to shave! You're on the road to some fantastic shaves. I wouldn't doubt that some of your neck irritation is a carry over from past shaves. As your technique becomes more solid and you learn what the skin on your neck can tolerate, I believe it will eventually clear up. In the meantime, you might have to live with a little sandpaper on your neck resulting from shaving WTG only. No one else can see it, anyway.

I can confirm that Palmolive and Wilkinson Sword stuff is cheap here!

Palmolive shave sticks will cost 48p and the cream around £2.

You can get a Wilkinson Sword bristle brush for £3, the shaving soap in a bowl for £2... The razor blades, however, are cheaper to buy online! They are usually around £4 for 10!

Keep at it. When I started, irritation was a regular part of my routine until it wasn’t. Like others have said here it just takes time to develop technique.
