I had a extra little time to kill in my travels yesterday. I stopped by a antique store, and they had several straights, but most were either priced to high, too many issues, or both.
I did pick up this 3/4” + Torrey razor, for a good price. The Scales are nice with no chips, they just need a little cleaning and polishing. The blade centers, and closes perfectly in the scales. The blade it in almost perfect condition, no pitting or staining at all. I’ve already laid the blade across one of my barbers hones to check if the blade was warped, or had any issues. So far it all checks out, and hopefully will hone up easily. If I get a chance tonight, I’ll take it to the stones. I stop at a lot of antique shops, but rarely find anything close to be this nice. The Palmer #41. Chicago.

Bought for educational purposes. It is plated with what appears to be a Chrome Plating.

I don't know if I will. I think the plating will start peeling badly, and it will just look like a mess. I will probably oil it and put it away.

    Thanks.
Yeah, every so often I get lucky. I’m on the road a lot for my job, and if I get a chance to stop at a antique store, I’ll do a quick check for shaving stuff. I got to say, this was the 1st one I’ve seen in this good of condition in all the stores I’ve ever stopped at.

Oh my poor wallet, LOL. I guess you all knew it but it wouldn't be long. I ran across a deal on 3 more razors that I just couldn't pass up on and had a great week so I could afford them. So in no particular order is a Frederick Reynolds 13/16 Sheffield razor:
    FR razor.jpg FR razor2.jpg FR razor3.jpg FR razor4.jpg
    and A Wade & Butcher 11/16 that was shortened a little, it's only 2 3/4 long:

and finally The Old English Razor (Silver Steel) Wedge:

You know how I love my Wedges!
They all are Shave Ready, These pics are from the man I bought them from and all the previous razors I got from him that said they were shave ready had a wonderful edge on them.

Wade & Butcher. States 21 cm blade.
This will be a project razor. New scales for sure. But, the blade looks decent.

Photos from Seller. Blade on the way.

A delayed posting from a weekend find. A pair of NOS Amco #23. They were still wrapped in antirust paper. The blade is square tip and measures in at 11/16 width. Made by Royal Crown Cutlery and guessing mid 1900's. The iPhone does not give them the justice they deserve, they are gorgeous

I told the Razor Fairy that I would love to have a full hollow 6/8.
She showed up with this. Said that this girl doesn't have all the jewelry, but she is the marrying kind and can really sing. 20180820_123613.jpg 20180820_123633.jpeg 20180820_123358.jpeg
