I had a chance to use it this morning - only one shave. As expected, it is more mild then the B2 & E2, but was smooth yet efficient. I usually like shorter handles, but it worked fine, the weight good, and the handle felt nice for a change. I really enjoyed using it. It isn't fancy, but a great price and value IMO. I never used any Schick beyond the E2 or B2 so I can't compare it to an original L, but I'm sure it is very similar. I don't know what blades were provided with the razor, but they seem sharp and I could not discern any difference in feeling from my Schick blades. I like using the E2 & B2, but both can easily bite, and this felt a bit more safe to use. The B2 especially can provide razor burn so honestly I think I prefer shaving with this L clone. We will see over time.

Thanks for the info Steve. I have J2 and I2 which have long black handles like this L1 clone and was tempted, but I have too many razors at it is so put my wallet away even though tempting price point.

I know the feeling - too many razors, but I try rotating through them for fun. Soaps are even worse! Too many temping fine products and they last a longtime. I just ordered a few seasonal products before they are gone for the year. I guess I'm just incorrigible. At least it is a clean hobby!

My family calls me a hoarder and need help. My granddaughter was bored this last weekend and counted 286 soaps and creams in my den. I need a major house cleaning.

Well, well, a pre-midnight shave and report. Miracles do happen. It was a rough night in delivery land tonight so I'm glad to be home and shaved. I won't go back out until Friday now so the next two days will be shorter and a bit more sane.

Twenty shaves on the Personna 74 blade. Twenty. Two - Oh. 1/5th of a hundred. 20% of a hundred. Two 10's. How many more ways can I say it to give it some attention and express my amazement? Second shave with the Qshave this round and since I always do 3 shaves per razor there is one more expected with this one. After last night I wondered if I could push the blade past 20. Well, I can. It isn't getting rougher at this point, just less effective. It's getting dull and it shows in the finish. Mid-range DFS tonight after three passes but that's still pretty amazing. One more will give it 21, or three full weeks and will finish out the Qshave for its second turn this month. Will I push it into the next round for the Consul? Shaves 22-24? I'll decide that after I get 21 in the books tomorrow.

I went with the El Caballero with the JR54 and it was a great lather. Just enjoyed the scent before I start comparing it to the other Bay Rums I have. No issues with the shave at all.

    RECENT SHAVES
    20180819_085321.jpg

Prep: shower with Siliski Soaps Floral Bouquet body bar
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Royal Stainless
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Perfectly Natural Root Beer
Post: Country Club Southern Oud A/S

Excellent shave, the Perfectly Natural soap whipped up a thick lather in the copper bowl with no problems. This Root Beer scent is more on the sweet side rather than anise or black licorice, which is great since i'm not a big fan of anise. This Royal blade has also been working out well, very smooth and have been hapily surprised by this blade thus far. Managed to get darn close to BBS and finished off with the sweet scent of Southern Oud, paired well with the Root Beer, and could still detect the Oud hours later.

Prep: shower with Smitten Soapery Mr. Cool bath soap sample
    Razor: Gillette Superspeed Flair Tip
    Blade: Treet Classic
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: Caties Bubbles Midnight Dreary
    Post: SC Courage balm

Pretty average shave the other day. Scent of Midnight Dreary is a bit similar to KShaveworks Black Orchid IMO and is a sweet dark mild floral/ patchouli. I seem to have mixed results with CB soaps for some reason (same with B&M) sometimes the lather provides a great shave, and other times it seems something is lacking. Did take my time making the lather and tried to take it slow, but this shave still seemed to be missing that WOW factor.

Prep: shower with Siliski Soaps Floral Bouquet body bar, pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Royal Stainless
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Smitten Soapery- Big Daddy
    Post: unrefined shea butter

Love the performance of Smitten Soapery soaps. Recently picked up this tub from their sale. aparently they are working on a tallow formula which peaks my curiosity. The scent of Big Daddy is a bit similar to Viking Oakmoss Sandalwood, it is a sweet masculine scent. Lather is capable of taking a ton of water without breaking down, slickness and post shave are what really stand out IMO. Very happy with the results from todays shave, and i hope everyone had a similar experience.

A beautiful cool shave on a sweltering hot and humid day. I used my new ΑΛΦΑ Alpha T-400 brush (available from me of course!!) AND UK WSS soap and splash for a menthol cool kick.

Please James Riley - make this UKWSS available again!!!

I coupled it up with a superb bowl from Symmetrical Pottery on ETSY and a superb razor from Yuri Kravchenko from ArtRazor.
