The weather here has been fantastic as well Perry. I’m looking forward to getting out on the motorcycle this weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 24 I completed my first series of three shaves with a Sputnik blade loaded in my Fatboy set on 9. All the shaves have been very close. The first two shaves, however, were not comfortable so I stopped after the first pass and a few touch ups. Thinking maybe the blade would smooth out this morning on the third shave, I opted for my normal two passes and touch ups. Again, my shave was close, but not comfy. My face felt irritated all over. I braced myself and applied alum to seal up a weeper and confirm the result. Bottom line, I'm calling it a day with the Sputniks and moving on to another blade. In all fairness, it's too early to tell if the problem is me or the blade, but I have others that I know work well for me. Nearly two hours later and I'm still feeling the effects. The good news is that it has not negatively affected my appetite. I hope you all have a great Friday.
Thank you Gentlemen! Special thanks to Chris @Bama Samurai for the soap imported during his London trip last year. I didn't know Florida had it's own. A combo of retired Italian New Jersey residents, Cuban and Puerto Rican Americans, with a touch of Haitian boat lift refuge?
I'll defer to @BaylorGator for more commentary, but that's the North Florida dialect, I believe. Go more southern and you'll get different ones.
3 super hot days coming up next week(Mon-Wed) so it'll be back to the soaps. Stoylin Glacial Wintergreen once or twice. We'll see if the other Glacial(Lemony Orange)arrives by then .
August 23, 2018- August Acquisition Razor: Unknown (German?) Single Ring Clone Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum (1) Brush: Semogue 620 Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Balm: Aveeno I recently traded someone from another forum my spare New LC for an unbranded (presumably German) Single Ring clone. It's apparently a clone of a thin-cap OT. The plating on the head is in decent shape, but is apparently totally missing from the handle and knob. Loading the blade was an interesting moment as it seems the posts seemed a bit large for the holes in the blade. Everything tightened down nicely, though, with no odd gaps. As for the shave, it was, in a word, "interesting". For the most part, things went well until I got to some spots like my neck and chin where it seemed to be hard to find the right angle without getting cut or poked. The result was two nicks and a lot of irritation on my neck. The alum was not quiet and the Listerine was worse. I finally had to pull out the Aveeno. This was last evening and I can still feel a bit of it this morning. I may have to come back to this razor as part of a focus.
Wise call Charlie. No need to have irritation when it can be prevented. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It feels good to be back home. Nice leisurely shave this morning. Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap Elk Antler Badger Brush Millikan Stub Tail from Dublin Pinaud Clubman Happy Friday!
Is "Natural" Lanolin different from regular Lanolin(that you'd see with Stoylin soaps, among others)?
There's a reason why billions of dollars are spent each year on weight loss products. The reason is what you said. Too many people look for a "magic bullet" to do so - sadly, there isn't one. It's all about proper diet and exercise. I know I need to lose weight. I know how to lose weight. It's just getting started again. Ugh.
Fat - with a side of Fat. Fat Friday. Whatever you wanna call it...it was a nice, easy shave - with a smooth finish. Have a great Friday everyone!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
