That's the Trifecta. Everything else is fine tuning.

Knowing when to quit? I believe over shaving is the biggest hazard with carts. All those bumpers, guards, lube strips, and flippy floppy heads requiring the razor be pressed against the skin. Once the urge to mash becomes no pressure razor burn is reduced. Stretching of skin sets up a more nearly flat taunt plane. Then getting the correct angle be it DE, SE, or SR reduces the number of passes.
    Meh shaves become Zen shaves.

    Another shameless enabling statement here:

Mike's Natural Soaps is now making aftershaves. I saw an ad from West Coast Shaving today saying they will begin carrying the Mike's splashes in a few days. I only have Mike's Coconut and I'm not sure I'd seek out a splash in that scent, but I know there are some Mike's fans here.

Your derision and eye rolling as to my mention of another new product is justified.

    Carry on.

I really like Mike's soaps so I might give the splashes a try.

I don't know if West Coast Shaving will be sole supplier, but seeing how Mike's is available at Maggards and other places I would doubt it. They were just the first I noticed who advertised them.

Thanks Clint. That's Grand Bay Bay Rum. Made by the same company that produces Dominica.

I have a trio of Gillette adjustables that I had refinished in matching colours. The Slim was in decent shape but the Fatboy and Black Beauty were both at the grungy lower end of user grade when I had them redone -- they worked but they definitely weren't pretty. In the photos, I had just used the Black Beauty with a shave cream that had left a white film on it, which shows up quite strongly. A quick squirt of Scrubbing Bubbles got rid of it later. It's also worth noting that all three razors have worked much more smoothly since being Cerakoted - the coating seems to help lubricate the TTO mechanism and the adjustment dial.

Those are beautiful razors, John. I'm not familiar with the Cerakote process. Are the internal parts coated, or do they retain the original finish?

Unhighjackable thread. Besides your enabling is balanced by Neal's attempt to ride the world of those Sharpstar blades he's warned us about.
If it wasn't for the sharing of products we like I wouldn't have tried a Fatip Piccolo, Florida Water Cologne, Palmolive Stick SS, Proraso Green Lotion, Osage Rub, etc.
