    Thanks guys.

The D01 is a Shavemac knot that is notably different from their others and gets mixed reviews because of the scritch it brings to the table (along with plenty of scrub). I’m told by those who love the knot that it can be an acquired taste. At the moment, the jury is still out for me.

Now that you’ve gotten your participation award, you have officially received the highest honor that can be bestowed on an honorary millennial. Congratulations @clint64!

Great shave report Charlie. Looking forward to seeing how the brush turns out.

As Randy indicated the D01 2 band and 3 band are an acquired taste for sure. The scritch and scrub are more concentrated with a bulb knot. My D01 3 band fan was rough on the scritch until I got over 50 uses on the brush. However, my D01 2 band Flat Top has been a joy to use from the first time with almost no scritch. If you are interested in Shavemac D01 brushes and not opposed to buying a used brush you can find many fine examples with very little use. Many people buy them and find they don't like the qualities. The Shave Nook BST has quite a few come up on a regular basis.

Thank you both! I'm not going to be getting one anytime soon (at least, I don't think so), but a Shavemac is on the "buy someday" list. Gotta slow my roll for a little while. I'm not opposed at all to getting one off a BST, and like you mentioned, Clint, they show up regularly. I prefer a decent amount of backbone, but some scrub is perfectly fine. I might be able to put up with some scritch for awhile...maybe.
Some great info that you both provided, and I'll have to keep that in mind for down the road. Thank you, guys!

My sample was a typical sample size, small enough to be mailed in a regular envelope with one stamp, so it must be less than 1 ounce. Still kind of him to send out freebies!

    Thank you, Jason!

Arko Adjustable August.... but no pic

Getting with the program and theme of the month, but I am a bit jet lagged so no time for a pic today. The Persona 74 continues to perform, still going great for shave number 6. Most blades are 2 and done for me so I am impressed.

They can’t all be winners. But, that’s fine. There are plenty of wonderful offerings to be had. Almost too many. ;)
Love the report and the photos, Jason!

Looking forward to seeing the brush...I think you picked out a sweet knot (with a little help). Envy knots are highly regarded.

Great job! You’ve received some excellent advice. The only thing you’re missing is the volume of shaves to get the muscle memory that Randy and others speak of. Stick with it, and with this group, and you will be amazed at where you are in 6 months.

Thank you, Gentlemen and yes, Jim, I think I’ve learned my craft fair lesson now...
