    Great shave and photo Jason.

Thank you Jason. I am hanging in at the office. Not sure how productive I have been. The big barber's bag is a hassle. So far I am enjoying the cream. I decide at the end if it makes my "Buy Again" list.

Oh, man...that's not good. I hope you're starting to feel better as the day goes on. Great looking shave, though - and fab photo! Get well, my friend!

Same here. A Silvertip for the brush I'm about to post, and the Finest for "Ol' Shedder". :)

What a wonderful way to kick off the day….

    Karve razor
    WDC-6 brush
    GSB
    Electric Sheep
    Electric Sheep Glacial AS

First off, I would be remiss if I didn’t give a HUGE thanks to Clint @clint64 for sending me this gorgeous brush handle, the WDC-6 - made by Doug @Douglas Carey. Also with this handle, he also sent the OneBlade Tuxedo brush, which have been in some of my recent photos. I am truly touched by his generosity.

After receiving the handle, I polished it up, then sealed it with polyurethane. It is now topped with a 26mm TGN Grade A Silvertip knot. It’s a beast of a handle. As Clint mentioned to me, it could be used as a weapon. Honestly - it’s a monster. Not in sheer size, but weight.

Yesterday, the Karve razor finally showed up in the mail. A day earlier than the tracking showed it would, but much longer than I hoped. There’s nothing I can say about the Karve that hasn’t already been said. My only hope is that he’s committed to delivering the same level of quality, no matter how many orders pile up. Eventually the high volume of orders are bound to drop off, allowing him to continue normal production, then getting them into online shaving sites (it seems that WCS is already slated to carry them). He has a winner with this design, and for the price point, I feel it’s a decent value.

This one is the 3” handle with only the “D” plate. I initially had the “E” plate in my order as well, but since Clint mentioned that it didn’t bring anything to the table in terms of efficiency, I contacted Karve and cancelled the “E” plate. Also, based on my use with the Rockwell, which has six “settings”, I generally only use one anyway.

    Onto the shave….
I chose my absolute favorite soap (that’s currently in my stash) - Stirling Electric Sheep. The WDC-6 loaded The Sheep quickly and easily. The handle is extremely nice in the hand, and the weight is not a drawback whatsoever - if anything, it enhances the experience. I might have to start alternating hands while lathering so that my right arm doesn’t get too muscular. ;) Face lathering was also dreamy. Being the first use, there’s a touch of scrub, however, over time I’m sure it’s gonna soften up nicely.

The Karve was also pleasant to use, loaded with a new GSB. The 3” handle length is perfect for my tastes. There’s a tad more blade feel with the “D” plate than I expected - not in a bad way though. Daily driver, for sure. With a couple more uses, it’ll become a mindless shaver. Efficiency is the name of the game with this razor. I could’ve gotten away with two passes…but, I was having fun. Threw in a third, just for kicks.

After a healthy splash of Electric Sheep Glacial, I am left with a smooth, refreshed face. I can’t stop faceturbating.

Again, thanks Clint! I’ll be repeating this setup for a little while, changing soaps and aftershaves.

The brush looks fabulous. Somehow I had managed to destroy the coating on the handle and the tarnish had turned the Omega boar knot green. I am so glad the you were able to salvage the handle and turn it back into a functioning piece of art. Plus it just matches the Karve Razor so well. They were meant to go together. I hope you enjoy using the brush for a long time to come.

Congrats on getting the Karve razor after what I am sure was a long wait. It is hard to believe how efficient the D plate is without trying it. The blade feel is no where as high as the efficiency level.
