Thank you, Charlie! The Sputnik blades are pretty smooth. I think this was 5th shave or so on this blade, and it is still smooth and easy.

@Linuxguile, I hope your first day back to work is a smooth one. I can't wait to see the family photos featuring the 30DC Dynamic Duo - Logan and Declan!

Survey update: Something Else and Cookies tied for first at 36, then we have Fatboy and More Than One tied for third at 30 I'm not counting the 30 group out, but Something Else and Cookies could be headed for a finish the likes of the 1989 Preakness(Sunday Silence&Easy Goer).

+1! A Toggle on loan beats a Chinese Clone.

Thanks Charlie. The little guy, Jeremiah, makes a face I'll have to capture with my phone camera. Tips his head down and peers up while giving an evil grin. Don't fall asleep...

That would be an interesting study and a great thread. Member @jmudrick has explored this path by mixing various parts from many 3 piece razors. Photos and notes, impressions on how it affects the shave, please?

FYI, John, my damascus knife is a small pocketknife that is comparable to the size of a standard swiss army knife with a single blade (no corkscrews, lumberjack saws, missile launchers, or any of that other stuff they put in the fat ones). Pete suggested among a group of folding knives that he considered some of the better manufacturers, materials, etc. out there. He custom made/fitted the scales out of burled ironwood that I picked out myself from among a ton of wood sample choices that he offered me. I can tell you I love this thing, and will never need to buy another pocket knife again, so it's worth the price of several swiss army knives as far as I'm concerned. As far as his prices go, he can give you specifics, but his website will give you an idea of his pricing of razors made with custom scales on a new Dovo blade. Basically, he makes premium products for a premium price (as opposed to searching for the best amazon price on a stock Dovo), but considering the time, customization and hand craftsmanship that goes into it, I consider the premium well worth the enjoyment of owning a one of a kind custom piece. Overall, his stuff falls into the category of some of my nicer watches. They are in a different price category than a timex, but the art and craftsmanship involved and the enjoyment I get looking at and using them puts them in a different category than a standard watch I could order online or pick up at a big box retailer. Just my $.02.
