Tonight's shave was great. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. It is with a little known razor, that delivers. The name says it all. Razor- "Perfection" Warranted, by T.Hessen Bruch & Co. Brush- Omega 10098 Boar Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented Aftershave- Vintage, Avon "Brisk Spice".

5/8 Russian Straight Razor "Osobaya"(Special), made at factory STIZ in Moscow in 1957 Had a great shave with this Soviet Era blade ,It mowed down whiskers like a Russian T-34 Tank busting threw the line .Its noisy like a T-34 too .Very audible blade .Louder than my German Hollow Grounds.Took a super keen edge.Honed on Sharpton Glass up to 16K than finished on my Escher .It is a Full Hollow ground Straight .Most of my Russian Blades are Quarter Hollows.Very impressed with this Razor.
Black Beauty: I bought this cheapie for ~$7.50 for camping. The blade is pretty lightweight, and just shy of a full 5/8, but took a sharp edge and is seeming to hold it. I had a three days growth and ended up with bbs after the usual three passes.

Your are right, it it is like a super sized Bismarck with a smile and thicker grind. No wonder I like my Bismarck and my Riga.
