Last evening, when I got home from work, my sample of Hendrix Classics was waiting for me. Thank you, Pete @Pete123 for providing the sample! That pretty much kicked MWF to the curb for today’s shave. Naturally, I opened the package to give it a whiff. Nice…very nice.

Like Jim’s @jluc sample, mine was rolled flat. No problem…just used my finger to scrape it off the paper and put in one of my kitty bowls that I use for samples. All ready for use this morning.

Naturally, I “Weaponized” the soap, which only took 15-20 seconds. Straight to a face lather. There was plenty of slickness, even without adding additional water to the lather. I was in a little bit of a rush, so further use will let me dial it in even more. First impression - very nice product. The scent is fresh and clean. I dunno if I’d call it a traditional barbershop scent, but I do get the barbershop vibe from this one, and I like it a lot.

The Karve and I played together much better today. A quick (for me) 2-passer and I’m left with a smooth face. Because there’s still a little irritation around My Nemesis, I didn’t futz with trying to get perfectly smooth there. Good enough. Know when to say when. I did have a poor touchdown in one spot on my jawline, which gave me a tiny cut - the price to pay for distraction and hurrying.

I look forward to repeating this setup when I can slow the pace down and “take it all in”.

Personally I like the Proraso line. Got started with C.O.Bigelow menthol cream (made by Proraso) and replaced it with the Proraso green soap in a tub. Added the Green preshave soap which is also menthol - quite strong in it's effect. It's a non foaming glycerin based product that's applied and left on, lathered over. It seems to add some slickness to the shave. The Green lotion has a great scent, somewhat minty and it's own dose of menthol, too. Not sure it's the best choice for a "starter set", but glad I have them.

For a more traditional scent the Red is a good choice as it's sandalwood. Don't have the preshave yet. I'm hoping to get the AS lotion for use with the Proraso and other sandalwood soaps.

The White line for sensitive skin is also decent. I have the tubbed soap and balm. Great post shave face feel.

I've got a couple Stirling samples that have a Fall vibe. The way our South Coast weather works I might get to them in November. Otherwise a Stirling lather is always welcome!

I've got about 3 shaves left on my Jeeves Bay Rum and then I think I'll break out a new Stirling sample and see if I can't get it finished next moth and maybe throw in a few shaves from my other Stirling favorites.

Thank you, Gentlemen. Bruce, the NEW is in about as good as shape as can be expected. Most all these NEWs seem to lose the plating on the top cap, giving them a bit of a two-tone look. The teeth/baseplate and handle are in fantastic shape, I think.

    Thanks Perry.
I put a WTB on the Fora BST threads and got lucky. It's a great bowl, IMO, not worth $90CDN...what is that in USD? $4.99? ;) :)
    Thanks Andrew.
