Saturday morning September 1 - SE and Stirling

Supply Co V.2 injector on plate #2 / Personna (? )
Supply Co silvertip fiber synthetic brush
Stirling Naked and Smooth soap
Alum and Supply Co Sierra Ridge balm

I had forgotten how incredibly slick this Stirling soap is. I nearly cut myself on my neck when I set my razor down and it skidded sideways on the slickness. Two effortless passes left me with a DFS. Great postshave face feel now too. Some of that is from the excellent Supply Co balm, but at least part of it's the Stirling soap.

I am definitely buying myself a few more pucks of different scents of this stuff...

Soap: Sterling Cool
A/S: Sterling Executive Man Balm

Luck as today was a shave day for me. I'm going to enjoy this month for sure. I'll use older SE razors on the weekends and my newer SE during the week when a shave is necessary.

 

Glad she found that group. Lots of Alabama alumni around the country. Would be quite a let down not to experience some excitement today as the season opens.

I counted this morning and I have 21 flavors of Stirling, BUT I also ordered a bunch of samples in from Maggards and had to try out the sample of Hallows today. Nice, but not a whole tub nice, unless I traded it out for a flavor I liked less. Maybe Eventide or Jacinthe? Dunno.

Anyway, the Hart Steel performed well as always, as I love the extra weight it brings to the party. I may try and use it exclusively until the Bismarck arrives later in the month. I’m also experimenting a bit with using my right hand in more areas rather than splitting duties equally between right and left. The neck continues to confound a bit, but I’ll keep hacking away at it.

Yet another nice smooth shave. Still some residual irritation from yesterday, plus I got a little carried away on my neck. All in all, really happy with how things are going with the Tech/Astra SP combination! Oh there was one tiny weeper that had closed before the second pass started! I went at my chin with the wrong angle of attack and the brand spanking new blade bit me! User error (as it always is)!

Second shave with my FatBoy

Electric Sheep Soap
My trusty alum block
Tea Tree Balm

All in all an excellent shave. I went extremely close today. 3 passes and against the grain on third in most areas with some touchup to follow. Fifth shave in 5 days. I went 3 passes on my lower neck area -- I'd been leaving it at 2 to this point.

Ended with some minor redness and skin irritation in my lower neck - left side only but not bad considering.

I find Stirling Electric sheep - and all the Stirlings I've tried for that matter - exceptionally easy to get a good, thick, moist lather. The scent of Electric Sheep reminds me of Liomoncello. Cool lemony refreshing with a little bit of bite.

The Tea Tree balm is doing a wonderful job calming down my neck especially. I need to remember a little seems to go a long way. I used about a kidney bean's worth today. It was too much. Next time I'm going to back it down to about a pea's worth.

Tea Tree's scent is very difficult to describe. I find it pleasant -- even though the smells I reference from it might not necessarily be - I get some piney turpentine in it, perhaps a hint of camphor and just maybe a touch of citrus. My wife liked it very much -- even though she described it as "mediciney but it smells like nice medicine." She liked it enough to go thumbs up on my order of the shave soap.

 

Excellent post. I agree that a pea's worth of the Stirling balms is plenty. Such good stuff.
