I love that soap. The scent just seems to always fit whatever I'm doing or wherever I'm going. Haven't met anyone yet who doesn't enjoy it.

    Gus,
The Mondial breaks in faster than any other boar I have experienced. 10 shaves and you are noticeably broken-in.

Agree 100% on the Seville, Joseph. Didn’t know it was a dupe, actually.

    Menthol Monday!

    Good morning, gentlemen!
Great two pass with light touch up shave. Started off nice and cool from the pre shave soap and shave soap, the witch hazel and aftershave took it to the face freeze level. Excellent start to the day!

    Happy Labor Day!

I don’t own a scale, but I’m focusing on losing weight right now too. I have a Fitbit and the app for that. I have been focusing on burning at least 3000 calories per day, climbing at least 10 flights of stairs, and waking at least 6 miles. (13,500 steps) I’m in on support!

Monday morning September 3rd - Labour Day shave

    Schick E2 / Personna ( 1 )
JR #267 birdseye maple and Omega 49 boar knot
Stirling Naked and Smooth unscented soap
Alum and Jeeves Cherry Blossom splash

A no drama shave today. One pass on the face with two passes on the jawline left me near BBS. No squawk from the alum. The Personna injector blade was sharp but a little rough on its first use, as usual -- it will be much smoother tomorrow.

The Jeeves Cherry Blossom splash had all the usual good Jeeves properties, including a touch of menthol for Menthol Monday. However, as I have used it for a few times, I have grown increasingly to dislike it. The soap and splash properties are great, but something in the floral mixture seems offputting to me. I think perhaps it's the magnolia. This set is going in the PIF bag...

In other news, I didn't need the styptic pencil after trying to feed the cat his pill this morning. I tried wrapping him in a towel, which didn’t work, although it did keep my bloodshed down. I did still receive a hefty-feeling clawed kick in the crotch. And in the end, the cat won -- after being spit back out a dozen times, the pill got lost on the kitchen floor, and while I was looking for it, the cat got away. He needed the pills to recover from a bout of feline asthma that had left him unable to do anything but lie on the floor gasping for breath. He's supposed to take the pills until fully recovered; I have decided that if he can fight this hard without wheezing, then he's fully recovered... And now, as I type this, the little rat is sitting on my lap and purring...

Great shave report John. I agree with your assessment on the cat. I think the asthma is gone.

    Cobra Classic
    Feather Pro
    SOC Mistura Taj
    AOS Ocean Kelp Shave Cream
    Dominica Grand Bay, Bay Rum

Another excellent shave this morning. The SOC Taj continues to impress. Adam, @Drygulch , mark the AOS Ocean Kelp Cream gone. This cream was marked brush/brushless and didn't work as well as the others I have tried. I am glad I gave Wade half of this container. I will use the Cobra Classic paired with a Feather Pro for the next 7 weekday shaves. Three passes and touch ups just missed the baby. Better luck tomorrow. I did add 10 drops of Glycerin to the Dominica Bay Rum. I do this with all aftershaves to help with skin care. I really like this aftershave. I have put the dry rub on the ribs and will fire up the Big Green Egg later this afternoon. Happy Labor Day everyone.

Alright DG. Since you asked.... It might take a while so I'll try to post a picture every day or so for the rest of these 30 days.

Just to keep the thread on track --- yes, you could in fact shave with any of these edges. For the record though could and should are two entirely different things.

Here are five of my favorites by a 3rd generation master smith from Japan --- Shosui Takeda. I had the pleasure of meeting Takeda-san a couple of years back. His knives are outstanding and he taught me some things about sharpening for which I'll always be grateful.

I’m following your cat escapades with a wry smile, John. We have to give our cat pills as well, and he will not ever allow them in his mouth- and we’ve tried the same tricks (and more) as you. I now grind the pill and mix it in with his food. He is a hefty cat and even if he tastes the meds, he’ll eat...

For the record this group tends to focus on “could” and doesn’t pay much attention to “should”. I see a MAYHem category in the making!

Very nice combo, Jim. A lot of us -myself included- can help you out if you want a SE to try this month.
Nice, simple photo, Clint. BBQ sounds like a great idea.
Cool photo, Brian. They hunt in Idaho? Who knew...
