MWF Cavendish~~Rubberset 400/3~~1955 Gilette Red Tip~~Gillette Blue Blade (1)~~B&M Cool AS
Focus constant will be the B&M Cool.
Got out the dry-as-dust puck of MWF Cavendish. the puck had shrunk and it was wobbling around in the bowl.
    Immediate blooming required. :happy088:
Soaked the Omega Pro, set in my Rubberset 400/3 too.
Old tyme (sic) Gillette Blue Blade, straight from the dispenser. These see seldom use.
Into the 1955 A1 Gillette "Heavy" Red Tip Super-Speed (hereafter: RT) I loaded the blade.
MWF responded well to the blooming, rendering a slick, thick, protective lather.
Nice 3 pass with minor irritation on both sides of my neck.
I was NOT "baby-chasing". I have to chalk this up to the blade.
    Otherwise, excellent shave.
B&M Cool has a very "sports body/hair wash" scent.
    Menthol for cooling.

This would make a terrific AS to keep in your workout bag.

Great report and photo, Joseph! Isn't the Gillette Blue Blade reaching back into the Carbon Steel Era? Most vintage carbon blades are total crap to shave with...

I’m way behind in here. I’ll do my best to get caught up, but I’ll end up behind again. Lots going on this month. I will read through the posts and drop in a post here and there.

So…what’s on tap for my shaves this month? Focus is going to be the Karve razor.

Whatta ya mean the Karve isn’t a single edge razor? There’s only one edge on each side. Only one side gets used on my face at a time. See…it qualifies.

Not only is it new to the den, more of my attention seems to be required with the Karve than my other DE razors. On the complete flip side of the Karve is the Rockwell. It’s almost automatic in use for me. SE razors will get put to use this month as well. I’ll most definitely pull out a GEM, at least. Stirling software? Yep. Covered. Not exclusively, but will see plenty of runtime.

The Karve and I are learning to work well together. It’s so incredibly efficient and the results have been fabulous, even factoring in the occasional weeper. The “D” plate works well as a daily driver. There’s no harshness, yet it removes stubble like nuthin’.

Today’s shave was enjoyable, using a few classic software choices. The Tabac was “Weaponized” into a glossy lather, and performed the way Tabac always does. A dose of nursing home scent, with a side of Clubman Classic Stank pretty much ensures that I wouldn’t get carded at a Buick dealership.

Welcome to the 30DC Crew! Those are all excellent products you have, and all you really need for a good shave.

Two refinements you might want to add, though, are an alum block and a bottle of witch hazel.

The alum block lets you test for spots where you used too much pressure and also closes up any tiny weepers. The witch hazel is great for fixing razor burn. There are various balms and splashes that are great for skin conditioning too, but most of them use witch hazel as a prime ingredient, and you can really do just as well if you want with a bottle of the plain stuff from the drugstore.

Great photo and report, Bruce! Good to know you have found a way to avoid the ultimate embarrassment of being carded for looking too young to buy a Buick...

Thank you very much, gentlemen! :)

I'm not too far from "legal age", John...I'm 48. So I have, what? 6+ years before I can own one?
