I don't use them in the shower. I'm sure they're fine, but I like them better as a hand-soap at my sink.

I used Baker Street aftershave this morning and was still getting strong whiffs of the scent 10 hours later. Nice longevity!

I'm a little embarrassed that I hadn't rented a tux to read the latest nominees, Paul. I never saw an unscented item coming, but now it makes perfect sense! I've read the description of Sandpiper so many times I think I can "mind smell" it lol. I've been on a grooming products buy binge as of late, both restocking favorites and trying new to me scents and companies. I kinda thought I could take a break. But nooooooooo...our resident Stirling affectionado has to go and give my biggest current Stirling scent desire an AWARD! It was a pretty short break lol!

You have until the end of the year to rent that baby, I call the winner on Jan 1. Talkinabout breaks, this is the longest time between announcements, as #4 will be called on Christmas. Thanks to some PIF's for this year, I might be investing in some new companies muhself next year(new to ME, that is).

Yesterday's shave. The menthol in this soap is so very strong. At first I thought my neck was getting irritated --- then I figured out it was the menthol. Good news! No sting from my alum block. My face was still numb! Overall I will say this: Post shave my face never felt better and I love the licorice. Tight, invigorated and nicely moistened. Good stuff.

So my nephew recently showed some interest in wet shaving. His 20th birthday is coming up and I was thinking about putting together a kit for him. He is a licensed EMT and is currently going through the firefighter academy (what it would be like to be that young again...) so I though the R4L would be a great set for him, though I don't know if a Vetiver fragrance would suit a young man very well. The other option I was thinking about is Dunshire, based on Acqua Di Gio, is a classic fragrance that is bright enough to be worn by a younger guy and really could be an every day any situation fragrance for him. He really isnt a fragrance wearer right now so this gift would be opening up two new worlds for him. What do you guys think? Do any of you that have the R4L set think it could be worn by a younger guy ?

Wow, sounds like you have a talented nephew! When my EMT son started showing interest, I got him a few samples to rotate through. He really likes Dunshire and Executive Man. I haven't tried R4L yet so I can't help you there, sorry. Good luck and update us on how it turns out.

Dunshire is a great choice. What about Sharp Dressed Man? @clint64 says he just ordered a R4L set so he can give us a take on the fragrance.

With no personal experience with SDM and knowing that some people are sensitive to one of the components of the scent I was thinking I would stay away from it. I was also thinking Executive Man, but I don't know if the name would be off putting to him.

Good points. Dunshire is a great choice and the R4L would be a great tribute to him regardless of the scent.

This isn't about R4L, but my nephew is 21 and this summer during the Colorado trip, he had some sort of pine scent on. Was nice.

Another popular scent that you may want to think about is Mountain Man. Great aroma. Also if you think that he might like citrus, Satsuma is still available as well.
