    August 7 SOTD:

    Razor: PAA PHNX L-1
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Stick
    Aftershave: Stirling Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB

This shave reminded me just how nice an Injector shave can be. It was smooth and easy. Two passes, and just a couple of patches to keep me from calling it a BBS. I am enjoying Bay Rums at the moment, so I pulled out the Stirling AS version. As noted above, it has some cinnamon oil in it, and this gives a nice little burn when splashing it on. It is really a nicely done Bay Rum IMO. I am looking forward to the weekend. I hope everyone has a great day!

Have you tried Stephan(Bay Rum)? I like it and it's on my shopping list for the future.

Beautiful shot, Clint! I'm glad the Stirling was better then you remembered!
It may be recycled, but its still a great shot Perry!
    Very nice Jim!
Fantastic shave Jim! Do the PPA Bay Rums you have present a lot of clove scent? I just got the PAA Pineapple Bay Rum and I can detect a considerable amount of clove.

Thank you, Jim! Great shave and photo today as usual! What is your take on the PAA injector? Do you have a Schick L1 to compare it to?

Before we get to my opinion, vis-a-vis B&M Classic/Spice being dupes of whichever vintage AS,
permit me to tell you all how wonderful Yardley shave soap is. :happy093:

I was fortunate to find this NOS soap and while the scent has faded, still there, but faded,
the quality of the soap has in no way suffered.
Literal "explosion" of soap. Bloomed, of course.

The combination of the Gillette New LC and the 4x Perma-Sharp blade was satisfactory,
but not without issue today. Some weepers under my chin...:angry019:
I could have pressed too hard, but don't think so. I kept my shallow angle throughout.
Nothing that a little witch hazel couldn't resolve.
    Oh well. New blade tomorrow.
    Now to the B&M...:signs002:
Yesterday, I made the incorrect statement that I thought B&M Classic was a dupe of the original Old Spice.
I was kindly corrected by Perry and Jason, that the Classic is a dupe of Gillette's Sun Up AS.
Well, here is my opinion, ready?
B&M Classic is MUCH CLOSER to the Shulton Old Spice than the B&M Spice itself! :signs089:
There, I said it and I am sticking to it.

Excellent photo and discussion, Joseph! You've really got me interested in those aftershaves.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Hmmmmm. I was wondering yesterday about what note in the Ben Franklin bothers people and now your comment about the Bay Rum and Ben Franklin seeming to have the same "off note" to you. The only common note between them is clove. I know some people don't like clove - so maybe that's it? I need to stick my nose into both again I suppose to see if I notice any similarities. I do like the Bay Rum, though, so it might be tough. That and the fact that my nose isn't all that sensitive.

Excellent shot, Joseph! The New's are my favorite vintage Gillette razors. Interesting observation on the Reserve AS too!

Thanks friends. B&M makes nice aftershaves, no doubt.
