Excellent post, Joseph! I really enjoy the Glacial line and love the menthol blast. Nice photo as usual.
Primo's post puts the pressure on me to see if I can "out-review" him tomorrow after trying my DeluxeSoap(British Racing Green)
Thank you Jim. The brush feels fantastic. I just wish it was already fully broken in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wonderful photo and report Joseph. I will add some menthol soaps before next summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SOTD September 8, 2018 A Stirling SEptember Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: vintage Personna twin Razor: eBarbershop Type O clone Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored badger Soap: Stirling Weekend in Malibu Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Coconut Lime aftershave I can't much justify yet another razor. But then eBarbershop announced they were closing and that their stock was 30% off. They made this Schick O clone and I couldn't resist. Ordered it about three weeks ago and it arrived yesterday. Paired it with a vintage Personna twin that @Screwtape sent out a while back to several of us lucky members. Smooth shave overall. Wonderful lather from the Weekend in Malibu soap and a nice Coconut Lime finish. Smelling like summer! Quite refreshing overall. I wish you all great shaves and a wonderful weekend.
Saturday morning September 8 - semper samples Schick E2 / Personna ( 6) Simpsons CH2 Synthetic Bristle brush Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap sample Lucky Tiger I used the Hendrix soap again today. I still think it smells like a mint candy. Or maybe I just don't know what bergamot, basil leaf, oakmoss and white patchouli smell like when they're at home... Come to think of it, apart from basil leaf, I don't know what any of them smell like... It's pleasant anyway. And easy to lather. I enjoyed a brisk but good shave today. One pass and done for a DFS. No need to test with the alum, and a Lucky Tiger finish. It's a rainy dull day here with thunder rumbling around; I am spending the weekend inside answering phones and it looks like missing nothing outdoors...
Nice report, John. I have the sample of the Hendrix soap and rather like it. The smell is very close to Reef Point Classic Barbershop in my opinion. Certainly easy to lather with nice performance.
After the “Conductor Move” injury yesterday, I have slightly limited use of my left hand so I opted for the DE which I use my right hand exclusively to shave with. A fatboy with whatever blade happened to still be in it brought home the gold. BBS in 2.5 passes. I am now basking in the glory!
Thanks, Clint! Going to eat BBQ for lunch and watch football all day. Adult beverages will happen. Stocked up yesterday at Publix.
Another great shave report John. Our weather will turn wet later on this weekend with the remaining moisture from the tropical storm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
September 8 Yesterday was a 'no shave' day as I unexpectedly spent a day in the ER. I had been experiencing sharp pain in my side and shortness of breath for a couple of days. I mistakenly attributed the pain to a muscle strain. The day began at the Urgent Care center, and the doc there wisely sent me to the ER for a more complete workup. I have blood clots in both lungs and am now on a blood thinner for the next six months. I'm already feeling a little better, but getting back to 100% will be a slow process. I see my family doctor next week for some follow up. I had great care yesterday. I threw on a t-shirt and gym shorts and left the house in quite a hurry. For a guy that shaves nearly every day and does care about his appearance, I displayed some ratty looking clothes, rough looking stubble, and a bed head to about 20 medical professionals yesterday. I've known one of the ER docs since he was in college, and he wanted to get a selfie with both of us in the photo. I was laying in the hospital bed and looking pretty road worn by that time. He's a sweet guy, but I hope I never see that photo. I gained 5 lbs overnight due to all the IV fluid and contrast dye that was pumped into me yesterday. I celebrate that sort of weight gain. I'm taking it easy for the next few days (doctor's orders ) and getting in a few short walks during the day with my beautiful Bride. God blesses me every day, and He blessed me in a very special way yesterday. This morning, I shaved with my Trac II (wanted to finish up the cartridge from my recent trip), my Kent BK4, LPL soap, USB, and Trumper Skin Food. It was a good shave, and it felt normal to get cleaned up. I set my Envy White 2 knot in my B-400 by Tom handle. Pix are forthcoming once the silicone cures. I hope you all have a great weekend.
