Ok, by order of the Almighty Czar of the 30DC Russian Blade Cartel - you are hereby ordered to rest, take all prescribed meds, do absolutely everything the doctors tell you whether you like it or not and....most importantly....do the same for your wife who is watching over you. You take care of yourself sir. We expect to see you at all future meet-ups.

I thin that's great she rekindled her desire to play cello again! I'm sure it brought back plenty of old memories. She was probably tickled pink that you were there, too.

Excellent "Rick Style" photo! Williams gets a bad rap, but it's a decent enough soap. Not luxurious, but it does what it's supposed to. I think that's so neat that your granddaughters are fascinated with your shave routine too!

I’m still going with pickles. I get the clove in both, but there’s another note too. Maybe the fake smell of fake cookies baking in the oven is distracting you...

When I grew up I was taught when you got thrown off a horse to get back up in the saddle; otherwise finding the courage to do it again becomes harder and harder. So today, having applied a fresh coat of hardware grade super glue to the finger, I lathered up some Cuero Occuro (leather/saddle smelling) Wholly Kaw, fired up the SOC with lather, and went for a ride with my Hart Steel 6/8.

Almost 2 years into the wet shaving journey, I feel like I’m just now starting to appreciate some things. The SOC, for example. I hadn’t lathered up with a boar brush in a while, and I really enjoyed the different tactile feel, density, and backbone of this brush. What a great change up from my herd of badgers ! (Herd? Gaggle? Flock? ... side note... I like that for a band name... Flock of Badgers). Anyway, regardless how badgers choose to refer to themselves as a group, the east-west and west-east passes on my neck continue to be my nemesis, but I’m only about 50 straight shaves in or so. Hopefully the magic will appear sometime in the next 50. Either way I feel proficient in wielding the blade, (conductor move aside), but not proficient at removing hair or approaching a BBS.

Review of DeluxeShaving's British Racing Green soap:

The first thing to jump out at me was the lathering strength. But soon I realized that it should be like that at this point, as most of it has been used already. My first pass was not what I wanted, as it appeared I bloomed the brush&soap too much. Blooming is fine, but there's a point where enough is enough. I knew the second pass would bail me out, as it did. But this is a nice soap-I could feel its smoothness as it was working with my face and neck. Lanolin, baby!!!
Here's the interesting part....BRG has some nice fragrances(vetimer, leather, dirt, rose)but they're all "stirred in" such that it was hard to find each one. This allowed for my aftershave(Maxwell'23 Tribute) to show in a way I don't think it has before-that is, in a strong, healthy way. Glad to have this Deluxe, and look forward to making my own choice later. B+.

    Brush: Switchback/TGN Finest
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated

Excellent shave to start the day! Two pass with touch up, near BBS.

Piacenza is such a wonderful scent, another sample that will be replaced with a full size tub.

    Have a great Sunday!
