I had to take off a little of the glue puck to make a new donor O-Pro 98 fit in a B-400 27mm ferrule. It was worth the effort!
i have a 10098, i m saving up for a vlasta 400. was thinking about fitting the knot in my rr 400 without damage..i need to figure out which omega brush has the same knot size...
I've got an Omega 98 boar knot in my JR # 160 handle. I absolutely love it. It has great backbone, nice scrub, and no scritch at all.
That's a beautiful brush, Rick. I would like to harvest an Omega 98 knot for my B-400 by Tom handle. Can please you tell me how you remove the knot from the OEM handle? Do you just remove the metal ring and use a hacksaw to cut the plastic? Thanks!
I like the breaking in process of a new boar knot. Maybe it'll still be a little scritchy when you get home? Tapatalk Via Kyocera
Thanks, I tried for as close to original look of the vintage Rubberset 400 style. Omega doesn't make a true fan shape, but it's close. When you receive your handle measure the inside diameter, then order your Omega brush with a similar or slightly smaller sized knot. Good thing about their brushes - great knots, lower end quality handles. Assuming the #10098 fits, the handle is three pieces. Lower end separates from the ferrule by simply knocking it loose, a friction fit. The metal ring is substantial, but the upper plastic ferrule can be cut away with some difficulty. It's all about saving the knot. I used wire cutting pliers to cut off the ferrule into two pieces. If you have to use a different model to get the correct diameter you'll be entering undiscovered country. Wood? Maybe a chisel and hammer. Do you have a Dremmel and cutoff blades? Tapatalk Via Kyocera
