    September 10 SOTD:

    Razor: PAA PHNX L-1
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: CO Bigelow
    Aftershave: Proraso Green
    Additional Care:
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB

Another nice shave with this razor as I did two easy passes for a DFS. I really like the CO Bigelow and Proraso combination for a Monday morning, and this morning was no different. My daughter helped with the picture again; as she tends to like pink, this one has a bit of pink hue to it. I hope everyone has a great day!

Any shave soap I have that has the word "Barber" in it allows me to use Clubman Country Club Shampoo in the shower. This might apply for Bay Rums, too, since they are popular in barbershops. We'll throw in Lucky Tiger as well, but I don't have a LT product.

    Stirling~~DG5~~'08 Gillette~~Polsilver SI~~Florida Water (mentholated)
    Focus gear: Stirling Glacial
Through watery eyes I write this report...

Something happened between the first use of the Stirling and this use.
    I surmise that
@Yehuda D sent his menthol fairies to spike my soap. ;)
Serious folks, completely different menthol level today. Solid 8.5.
My very first "highly mentholated" soap was Krampert's Frostbite.
Now, I didn't care for that soap mostly because of the scent...or lack thereof.
It was simply plain soap, mentholated.
The Stirling tends towards the "sweet" side and, while I am not a fan of "sweet smelling" soaps,
I rather enjoy this wintergreen scent.
I read recently where someone compared shaving with a really densely packed knot to shaving with a "tennis ball".
The Declaration Grooming B5 comes close to that description. It's almost a solid surface of hair!
The Gillette and Polsilver combined for a BBS in 3.
Made my eyes water even more when I splashed on my spiked Florida Water.

Thanks Charlie! And I trust you are doing equally well in shaking off that rather more serious problem of lungs full of blood clots...

Great report, Joseph. Removes any remote desire I might have had to go near the Stirling Glacial line...

Thanks John. I've been on my meds since Friday night, and I'm already feeling better. I just returned from a short walk with my Bride. I see my family doctor on Friday for follow up. Thanks for checking on me.

    Monday morning September 10 - non-menthol Monday

    Schick E2 / Personna (7?)
JR #276 white ash (Louisville Slugger) and Omega 49 boar knot brush
    Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap sample
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal and Clubman VIBR

I rested my soaked brush in the soap mug while I did some other things before shaving, which effectively "bloomed" the soap sample. The soap was even easier to load and the lather was even creamier today than on the past couple days. Maybe these Soap Bloomers of America are onto something...

I enjoyed my shave today. After the first pass, when I felt my face, I thought the residual slickness from the soap was enough to allow another pass without even re-lathering. Despite that, I did re-lather again for the second pass. The alum was silent. Afterwards, I squeezed the remaining lather out of the brush and rubbed it on my face while I cleaned up to test the soap's postshave skin feel. It's very good. However, I used some Thayers anyway before splashing on the VIBR.

When I was all finished and examined my face in the mirror, though, I could see some visible stubble on my chin that the two passes with the injector had failed to remove. My suspicion is that the blade is simply losing its sharpness. I binned it and will move on to another combo tomorrow.
